Today I noticed my fingers were hurting really bad. My fingers are starting to curle under and to the left side. Wow they are swollen and hurt. Also my right pinky toe is swelled and in a butch of pain. Curling under as well. My shoulders are hurting now.

What in the hell is this anyway? It is so fast, that I can't keep up with the pain.
I never had a DX from myRD Dr. But my Md said it is Ra. I have lost 44 lbs in one year. Down to 81lbs. now and feeel really sick and tired all the time.
Can barely walk now as my toes are so curled and swollen.
No one wants to help me. Is it because I'm too thin or could it be I am filing for disability?
Ia m only 54 and should not be this way. I kown there are younger people going through this, but to me, being a pysical person and to have to stop working, camping. geocahing and playing with my grandkids and dogs is devistating to me.
How do I get my klife back, when the Drs. ignore?
I am scared of all the pils and side efects....
Last year I was climing hills, running through creeks and having the time of my life. Now all I do is sit here in pain and watch my extremities get deformed.
Yes I am mad as hell!
Just want a true DX, get better and have some fun once more.
Sorry Guys just needed to vent.
Wow...sounds awful.  Are you on any RA medications?  Why the huge weight loss...81 lbs sounds dangerously low.  Are you seeing an RD now?

Alan
I hope you can find a good rheumetologist  who can get you the diagnosis soon. Are you taking meds to combat the RA?  I am praying for you.
much hugs

Oh sweetie, I'm sorry you are in such pain. If you cannot get a dr to treat you, go to the ER. 81lbs sounds dangerously low to me too. You cannot fight if you are feeling weak. Is there someone you trust to go to your appts with you? It sounds like your primary doc is the only one in your corner. Make an appt with him/her and plead for help if you have to. If he cannot find a rheumy to send you to, ask if he will treat you with RA meds. It's important to stop the damage now.  I'm sending lots of hugs your way, best of luck!OMGoodness!!  I am so sorry that you're having so much pain!  Please get to see your PCP and have him/her find you an RD immediately..

You need their help.. the damage needs to be stopped!!

Don't take no for an answer!!
Keep pursuing until you get your dx. It's hard when you are not feeling well but if you don't do it no one else can.
Hope you get relief soon!
81 pounds! I can't imagine why your Dr. hasn't effectively addressed this, when you are in such a dangerous and painful state. Your body needs energy and 81 pounds ain't going to cut it.

I would definitely keep hounding the docs for a solution. You don't deserve to be in this condition!! My heart goes out to you.

I know that all of us here can relate to your frustration, it's a horrible disease. Don't worry about venting, it relieves some stress!

I hope to hear you've made some progress real soon and have received some relief! Even just knowing for sure what is going on can help ease the mind a little.

Take care~
Audrey

Sorry you are having such a hard time.  Keep plugging away and find a dr. who will help you.

Unless you are 4 1/2 ft tall at 81lbs you should be in the hospital getting IV nutrition.  The weight loss is the far more serious issue right now despite the RA.  I wouldn't be sitting in my house watching anything happen.  i would be sitting in my doctors office until he saw me and then I would demand some help...

You can't be passive at this point...at that weight you are risking your life

The only drugs I am on is Actonel for bone density, Cymbalta, Vitamin D, Fish Oil and Iron.
They comment on my weight, but offer no suggestions. My RA is out of town again! But I do have an appointment with MD on the 28th. Will ask him if he can help.
Thanks Guys.
Lostpoet,

The weight loss is concerning too.  Could you start by drinking ensure?  It might help to keep your weight stable until you get proper treatment, plus it will add the nutrients you need to function.  Secondly, please make your GP get you to the right doctor.  If I may make a suggestion though, when you do go for that visit to a new RD talk about your symptoms, treatment options, etc.  I wonder sometimes if Doctors get turned off when they are handed disability forms at the first meeting.  Save that for while you are on treatment.  I hope you understand what I'm trying to say here because you really need the help NOW.  The disability forms can come shortly afterward.  I know what it's like to be active and then nothing...I hike, trailride my horses, and used to do high altitude mountaineering.  The mountaineering and rock climbing have been eliminated, but I still do hike and ride.  The trick is to get this into remission first, then slowly bring those activites back in line.  I hope you get relief soon.  If need be and the pain is too bad; go to the ER.  You really need to be checked out.  Peace and relief to you...Hiking-Gal
there is no way you should be sitting around patiently waiting for the 28th.  Call your MD and tell them you need to be seen ASAP.

You need to be screaming from the highest mountain that you need help
