Back for a Minute - Humira Q | Arthritis Information

Hi everyone! It's been quite a while, I have terrible internet at my house so resort to doing everything at work. Hope everyone is doing well (or at least, better)!

Ok, here we go: I started Humira last night. Four hours after the injection, I get this leg pain (mostly in the right thigh and hip), kind of tingling/really mild numbness... And it's still here this morning. I've looked EVERYWHERE, but I can't find what could be causing it. Leg pain/numbness is listed as a side-effect of Humira, but I want to know WHY--and whether I should go to the ER!

I emailed my doctor but probably won't get a response til tomorrow... Don't even know if it costs money to go to the ER (I'm sure it does), or where the nearest Kaiser hospital is...And my mother just thinks I'm being paranoid/not "tough enough". :(

Any advice at all is wonderful... thanks you guys. big love <3
oh, I guess I should say that I normally have zero hip pain... and right now the hip pain is the worst part, blagh...Do you have any other symptoms at all, itchy or rash or anything?  I used to get bruises sometimes and maybe a little bit of tingly but nothing like you describe.  Try calling Abbott directly, there should be a number on the box. That the best advice Michele! Humira can cause nuerological symtoms like numbness and tingling....all the way up to MS symptoms. It can happen on the 1st injection or the 100th or never. No one knows who will be hit, when, or why.

p.s. I'm on Humira too and have numb tingly hands but I think it is caused by nerves that are pinched by swelling in wrists and elbows. It would be worse without Humira.
I just wanted to say thanks for checking in littlestgypsy! I don't take Humira so I don't have any advice. Hope it all checks out OK and you find success with the injections!I would talk to my doctor before calling Abbott...the drug companies are biased towards limiting their liability and might overreact, resulting in not being able to continue with Humira.  I had a similar tingling effect in my shoulder about a year ago while taking Humira.  After an MRI and a visit to the neurologist with nothing conclusive to explain it, the symptoms eventually disappeared and haven't returned. I tend to think it was more likely to be an RA symptom than a Humira side-effect...didn't do me any harm.

I was taken off of Humira and sent to a neurologist also after taking Humira for two years. I had strange tingling in my lower legs, as well as my hands. Turned out it was discovered that I had low B12 and after starting b12 injections my symptoms lessened dramatically. They determined it wasn't anything like MS; but that was certainly my doctors fears when he sent me to see him.

After being off of it for a year I'm not back on it again in the hopes that I don't have these problems again.

I've got my fingers crosssed for sure. I really think Humira makes a big difference for me.
