So I havent been on in a few months and I thought I would pop in and see how things are going with everyone. I have been in school, and working. I just finished the summer semester and I have a week before fall semester starts. My RA has been more active this summer, I dont know if it is weather related, my meds started to fail, or if it my increased activity and stress level. I broke my finger the other day in a play slap fight with my husband (mature right?) but otherwise I have been hanging in there.

Anything exciting happen lately? Whats new??. Its nice to see you on the board again.

hugs
Hey Crunchy, nice to see you. What are you studying in school? If I remember, you are a nurse right?Hi Crunchy, what a surprise!  Am glad to see you posting.  You've been busy this summer.  What are you doing in school?  How's your husband's leg?

We've been enjoying the great northwest for the summer.  I just got back yesterday from seven days in Victoria, B.C. and we'll be leaving Washington on Sept. 9th headed to Yuma and then Mexico for the winter.  I'M IN CLINICAL REMISSION and haven't felt this good in years.  Few problems from the meds and am golfing and hiking some.

Don't disappear again for so long.  Lindy

Lin, it is good to know that you are doing so well. I'm jealous that you are going to spend the winter in nice weather. I'm glad for you though. Yeah, it must be great to travel so much.  Um, yeah I did win the fight..lol...and I dont think he will be starting one of those again for a long time!! My finger is actually much better today. The swelling is just about gone and there is just a little bit of bruising. I havent been wearing the splint since yesterday and I actually think that has helped it. Certain movements are painful, but overall, having it mobile is much more comfortable than complete immobilization. The fracture is so minute, I injured the tendon and I think alot of the swelling was more because of the RA. I think it just "responded" to the injury more.
I am in school to continue my nursing education. Right now I am retaking some basic coursework. Some because they are biology and nursing classes that I need but are expired (biology has to be within 5yrs, and nursing 2yrs for application to the program). Others I am retaking because I took them years ago and made 'B's. The nursing programs here are very competitive and you need all 'A's to have a shot at getting in.  I just retook Anatomy and Physiology I and II this summer, in the fall I am retaking Pharmacology, English, and Lifespan (psyc). I will start application in the spring and I guess I find out in April if I am in or not.  I needed an additonal PE credit too and I took SCUBA diving this summer as well. I am now officially a certified diver! I havent made any really big dives yet but we are planning a trip for this fall, for now I am just doing fresh water diving.
Crunchy, It's so good to have you back! Sounds like you've been very busy. A diver, huh? How exciting is that? I've never tried diving but I really love snorkeling. Last trip to Hawaii, I only went snorkeling once and it was so hard getting back into the boat. I don't know if I'll be able to do it anymore or not.

You've had a lot of classes, haven't you? What program are you getting into that you need the extra classes?

Hope your finger continues to heal well! Don't work too hard. I'm sorry your RA has been more active. I know how hard it is to be as busy as you have been when you are having severe pain.

Please continue to post. We've missed you.

Hugs, Nini
Thanks, Lori - when you get to be as old as I am, you'll be able to travel - honest!  Wish I could have done all of this when I was younger but was too busy working hard so I could do it when I retired!!!!!!

Crunchy, Many years ago I needed a PE credit and took golf.  I'd love to be able to scuba dive but guess it will wait till my next life.  Where are you going this fall? Lindy
