Hello everyone,
My first post on this board. I was diagnosed with RA early in the
year after previously being diagnosed with PMR (at age 50!?!) and put
on Prednisone. I'm going through a lot trying to accept and cope
with this disease and diagnosis. I am a former nurse, I am
currently a moderator for a meterology forum. I was heavily into
astronomy but haven't been active with that in 2 years because of pain
and fatigue which really upsets me a lot. I devoted a lot of time
and effort into our local astronomy society and sat on the board.
Now only to see it all go away and wondering if I'll ever get back to
it. I have tons of expensive equipment and for the first time I'm
thinking of selling it
I have a good rheumatologist who has me on MTX, leucovorin and some
pain medications. So far the results are quite mixed. I
have some deformites in my feet and it appears to me that mild
deformitis are beginning to show up in my hands.
I am very happy to find you. The tips you have for coping with pain, fatigue and just getting along are GOLD!!
I'm hopeful I'll be able to contribute here and learn more about what I should expect and how to cope.
