mtx question | Arthritis Information

i just started my mtx inj. on friday how long does it take to notice a differ. so far i do not feel any diff. im only on 7.5mg though and 60 mg of prednesone. all i feel is a little nausea and a lot of crabbinessHi...that's a lot of prednisone..enough to make anyone crabby! When I had 80mgs of it, my husband would hide! I don't know about the MTX injections...but the pill form takes a month or two to feel some effect......I think that's how it is anyway.

It's going to take serveral weeks...to several months to get the full effect; and I agree with Murphette. That's ALOT of predisone. I'd be ready to rip someones head off if I was you.

Hope you'll get to cut that back soon. How long have you been taking it in that high a dose?

I agree, that is a lot of prenisone.. And as far as the MTX goes, it can take months, and unfortunately you may never feel any effect from it..It made a big difference in my treatment; but it took a while....and Kathy's right. Often people get no help at all from it.It helped me too for many years. How many years have you been on it now Mags? I have been on it since july and It is not working for me I have started to get worse in the last few weeks but some of the people I know swear by it. I guess it is getting the right mix of drugs that works........TERESA Good luck you will be fine
