HillHoney- how was the wedding? | Arthritis Information

It was either this weekend or last wasn't it? Hope it was everything you hoped for!The wedding was beautiful - thank you for remembering and asking!  It didn't go off without a hitch, I'm afraid, but it was a spectacular day anyway!

My goofy in-laws went to the wrong wedding and sat down in the second row!  It never occurred to them that the were supposed to be at a lighthouse, or that there wasn't anyone there they knew!  My son had to hop a fence (in his tux) and go get them, and bring them to the right wedding.  He said he could see the groomsmen from the other wedding pointing to them and talking about them, like "Who the heck are these people?"

That delayed things a bit, since it was my MIL, BIL and his whole family - a total of 8 people!  We would have started the ceremony without them, but hubby really wanted his mom to be there, so we waited.

There was a storm brewing all around us, lightning, thunder, dark clouds and suddenly our music cut out.  We think something got hit with lightning, but anyway, my poor daughter didn't have her music to walk down the aisle to.  It was a sweet, quiet, very personal ceremony and most people never even knew about the problems!

Then we rushed to take photos before the rain came, and they told us we probably had only about 10 minutes.  But right over my daughter and her new hubby a rainbow formed, and the skies cleared and we had the most beautiful evening!  Oh by the way, the song my daughter was supposed to walk down the aisle to was - "Somewhere Over The Rainbow"!

Rainbows followed her on her honeymoon - they saw three on their plane trip to Turks and Caicos - and  the tropical storm/hurricane Faye went around them and missed them.

Rainbows and Wizard of Oz are very symbolic to our entire family for a long list of reasons, so if there was ever a way to receive a sign that their union was blessed and everything was going to be alright, the rainbow was it.  Special ordered by angels on the other side.

We had tons of fun, yummy lobster, delicious wedding cake, crazy performed dances like Thriller, I'm Too Sexy (all the groomsmen in a special choreographed dance) and she and I had a "Mother/Daughter" dance with other females guests to "Fat Bottom Girls".  It was a blast.  My hip and feet held up ok (not great, but ok enough to dance 3 dances and walk around and mingle with the crowd.

All in all it was a wonderful time!
Hill, that in-law story is HILARIOUS!!!  My daughter and I had a good laugh over it :)   I'm glad it all turned out so well though.  Don't forget the pics!Hi Karen, the wedding sounds delightful and spontaneous.  Your inlaw story is just too funny, duh?  I've never liked wedding receptions but your daughter's sounds like a great party and one I would have enjoyed.  All of you have wonderful memories and yes, we want pictures.  LindyOMG Karen...that in-law story IS hilarious! All the "hitches" are what makes weddings and receptions so memorable. I loved the rainbow story and it sounds like the reception was outstanding!!! Now is rest time, lolOh Karen, I laughed so much I cried, a wedding wouldnt be complete without a hitch and going to the wrong wedding was certainly some hitch but judging my the photos you must have been really proud parents. Your daughter Looks so beautiful and the rainbow sighting is surely a blessing, WE WANT TO SEE A PHOTOS OF YOU LOOKING ALL GLAMOROUS TOO!!

Thanks everyone for the kind words.  Lisa, I don't have any photos of me yet.  I snagged these two from facebook and no one has posted any of me.  I won't have any from the photographer until after they get back from their honeymoon and see them first.  Sounds like God has really blessed this union! Rain is supposed to be a sign of it and then all those rainbows! Your daughter looked beautiful!
