Rusted Cages

You spent your life secluded.

Locking yourself away from all others.

Never letting anyone close enough

To know the real of you.

You built your cage strong,

Under lock and key for your safety’s

Sake.

What a world you created for yourself.

All secure and within your realm…until now.

You need compassion and understanding.

You long for a shoulder to cry on,

Or that human touch.

You want to feel the air across your face

And walk barefoot across a field of clover

But your cage is old and weather beaten.

Your lock has rotted away and your keys fit nothing now.

You remain in a rusted cage.

hmmm ...this really strikes a chordYes Wantobe. That is me.

I feel like that too. Pre RA I was invincible and self sufficient- didn't care for or need anyone's help. I was the do all and be all care taker. Now I wish someone would take care of me.

Me too!But there's still only me, myself and I....Do you mean you are all alone? Or just feel as I do all alone?
