From the website:
"Within Our Reach has the capacity to improve RA patients' quality of life, alleviate long-term effects of RA and,
ultimately, ensure that future generations can enjoy life without RA by funding innovative research and building
on the scientific knowledge and advancements already made to ultimately find a cure for RA."

Keep your eye on the prize, Pip, your eye on the prize....this is only the second-round, right? there's work being done!  trying to find us help!  Pip - open the link and look at the logo - there is a slogan underneath with the word cure.  Cathy -

This is the only thing I've seen since diagnosed that even used the word 'cure' as a possiblity.  Take a good long look at who's in charge.  O'Dell.  And it looks to me like he got bought.

Pip

why does Dr O'dell have to be " bought" to work on a volunteer committee for the ACR?  And he is not in charge he is one member of a committee
No, he's running the show.  And there's more that I've seen on the RB.

All I know for sure is this - he's got some research that got buried - and he's switched to 'therapies' after he got this post.  I am the only person saying this (now) but I'm betting he got bought.  We'll see who's right in the next year or so.

Pip
sorry Pip- these are the guys who make the grants

the roll  of the VOLUNTEERS of which Dr O'Dell is one

Please explain what you mean by being bought.  Where is the proof of the "buried" research?   Why does someone have to be paid off to change his treatment focus...maybe..horrors of horrors after years of treating one way he has come to the conclusion that it is not the best way

I don't think you went high enough up the ladder.  He's the President of the ACR REF and he's on a panel of 4 for the steering committee.

I did look high enough...you didn't pay attention to the dates.  Your article is dated Nov of 2006.   He is not the current president.  Leslie Crofford is..Dr O'dell is only on the Volunteer committee....The link I provided you are the current members of the REF leadership

But even if he still were the chair of the ACR's Research and Education Foundation why is that selling out?  What s wrong with giving research grants?
Is any of the research on the Antibiotic Protocol?
