I posted several weeks back concering my achillies tendons being inflamed. Well went to Dr. yesterday and he checked out everything. Hardly listened always so busy but a great Dr. But when i showed him my feet he stopped dead in his tracks I had his full attention. He started asking all kinds of questions then. Well he ordered a MRI, had my treatment of Orencia but before that he gave my iv of Medrol and tramadol or something fpr pain. Put an aircast on and said stay off your foot. He thinks it has ruptured. The funny thing is that this morning I woke up with swelling just about all gone and no pain. Is it the meds and will go away in a day or so. Anyone had the medrol and pain meds? I feel pretty good still hurts in my back but my feet feel great. I wish my feet and ankles could feel this way everyday and of course hands, knees, elbows oh I guess was just dreaming of no pain ever. I have felt a little wierd from the medrol had trouble sleeping. He also gave me voltarin gel to apply never heard of it before. Well MRI is on Sunday at a mobile unit at his office. Cheaaper and ins. company likes that. I am hoping that my treatment will work better than last months. Right now feel like I can dance a jig. Better not though... Have a happy day everyone. That's great news Laura!  I'm glad you are getting treated and it's working!Glad you feel better! Do you think you should give a call to the doctor and see if you can expect to continue with this great feeling?Well I guess I jumped the gun on feeling good thing. Too Good to be true because this morning the pain is back with a vengence.  It is like it saying aha thought you had me beat. I called my DR. at 8am and have not heard from them yet. I really have never been one to call or complain alot but I just can't take this pain especially in my middle of my back. It hurts to even breathe. I guess I will give them till after lunch and if i don't hear from them call them back. I really have never had a bad flare in all the years of having RA so this is all new to me. I have had aches and pains but not full fledge in your face pain like this. I guess I am scared of what is next. Sometimes I think that being in remission sometimes gives us a sense of everything is ok and we forget that this can flare at any moment and put us out of comission. Ok enough sorry.... I hope everyone has a great day. Well,I was happy for you, but now I'm sorry you're in pain again. Bummer. I hope you get feeling better soon. Hugs to youLInB asked  "  Has your doctor ever said anything to you about psoriatic arthritis?  With PsA one of the areas that can be hit the worst is the Achilles tendons.  They become inflamed and it causes them to tear or rupture. "
My daughters problems started in her Achilles tendons also ( they never ruptured )but were so bad she literally could not walk for months. when ever she did she would have to take percoset and have cortisone injections .. it was terrible.
one of the things that her Rhuemy wonders about is psoriatic arthritis, but it does not run in our family .
she is 14 and for now her diagnosis is undifferentiated spondolarthopy.
but it is also interesting to note that at least in younger kids often the ankles are the first to be affected when they have spondy at least that is what I have read.
well Im just rambling but maybe you could ask your doc to look into those two things ..
just a thought
good luck Im sorry your in so much pain
