ribs...argh | Arthritis Information

I have had the worst week.  Of course timing couldn't be worse...teachers started back yesterday.  Anyway, I have not been able to get a full breath.  I keep needing to yawn to feel like I have enough air but that kills my ribs.  So, my RD fit me in today.  Love that man...it was even his birthday and he stayed late.

So, he was not pleased at all.  I have inflammation all through the ribs.  He gave me 5 injections!!!  Two in the sternum, one in the front of the ribs down the right side, and two in the back.  NUTS!!  This has got to work.  He wants me to take the rest of the week off but knows that is not an option right now.  Kids come monday and this is a crazy week.  I am actually supposed to lead an inservice on Friday. So, I will take my Lortab and try to do as little as possible.  I have just never felt this bad before.  Basically the inflammation is causing all the muscles to become inflammed as well.  Dr. kinda described it as being wrapped in duct tape across the ribs.  Pretty accurate.

He did say that there may be something in addition to RA causing the rib stuff.  But, he also said that it would be treated the same way.  He said we would talk in more detail when I see him again.  I am not supposed to see him until Oct. (every 3rd Orencia treatment), but he said to let him know how I feel in Sept.  when I get my next infusion.  Or, call earlier if necessary.  He spent a while with me today and I know he ended up leaving late for the hospital--happy birthday to him.

Anyway, I was just feeling kinda blech about the whole thing.  No one else to really gripe too...lucky you!!

Much hugs, Rebecca!

I have rib pain today, from sitting too long. They just feel like a gurdle squeezing too tight.

So... I am sure yours is got to be even more painful. Oh and I would have said NO to all those shots!

much much hugs to you! Hope you make it thru your week.

HUGS!
Hugs to you Rebecca

That sounds like such a painful condition! You doctor sounds like a wonderful person and a very compassionate doctor. I am so glad you have a doctor like that! I hope you feel much better tomorrow. And that it is completely cleared up by next week when the kids come back!

Be well, Sweetie, and try not to work too hard. You really need to take it easy, so you can heal and not get worse! We are always here for you.

Gentle hugs, Nini
