Can anyone who has suffered this or knows someone who has give me any info. of what you have experienced.

Anything at all would be helpful so I can pass on the information.

Thank you in advance for your help.
It's as varied as RA.  Do you have any specific concerns?  It might make easier to give you some info. Oh well I am not sure.  My step-mom has custody of her granddaughter.  She is 12.  And just yesterday they told her she had JRA.  And she needed to find a pediatric RA doc.  Which she can't seem to find any close.

She is just not starting with this so it is very new to all of us.  I know most of it started with, for instance when she does anything like small hikes her feet swell and legs hurt to walk on.  Some days she just doesn't want to do anything, says her legs or back hurt.

That's about all I know.

I started w/ JRA 40 years ago..   You may be best served w/ an RD even if he's not a Ped RD..  do NOT go to an orthopedic ped..

I can understand how she's feeling.....    (hugs)
Yeah... I remember my ankles all the time swelling when I was determined to play or climb around. My back did not hurt though. Most of my affected areas were my knees, wrists, ankles and sometimes my feet. I did have neck pain alot though.

[QUOTE=shykymom]  And she needed to find a pediatric RA doc.  Which she can't seem to find any close. Yup she is on meds.  So hopefully she will feel better soon.  Thanks for the site.  And also the info on "160 docs", wow not many at all.what meds is she taking? I know how she is feeling. I was dx with JRA when I was 8. started with my ankles swelling and hurting. let me know if you have any questions!Well I am sure these will be spelled wrong.  She is on predsone pack.  Then will be on naproxin until she see's a RA doc.  Then it may change.  I am not sure.

She is on other meds too for other problems.  So I am not sure how that all works together.  Hopefully she can get some answers.

I do think it's more scary for my step-mom than C.  Because C is a bit slow so it hasn't really sank in.  But maybe we will get lucky and the meds will be wonderful.

littlemermaid is there anything you avoided or any extra things you did to help.  Like proping up your feet everynight??
I didnt really avoid anything-in fact i was competetive in gymnastics when i was dx and stuck with it for awhile after. I sometimes used a stroller/wheelchair when we were on long shoppng excursions but thats about it. didnt prop my feet up, warm baths are nice though. mostly the most important thing for me was to keep moving, it was good for me to stay in gymnastics and keep those joints moving
