My heart is broken :( | Arthritis Information

 

I had to have my littlest dog put down during the night.  He started making old man hacking noises and couldn't breathe so I rushed him to the emergency trauma center 3 towns away. His lungs were completely full  because his heart was not working properly. His vet said he'd never be the same playing with his tennis balls or our other dogs. I drove home  and got the family out of bed to go back to say goodbye. It was so sad. Even worse though, is Hoover was older son's dog and his gf just came up and said he locked himself in the bathroom and is sobbing.

I need to go comfort him Owiemom, Loving my Lilly like I do I can very much understand your families pain. I'm so sorry.I am so sorry.  I just went through the same thing last month.  It is heartbreaking.  Thinking of you.  The LaThat is so terribly sad! I am so sorry! Pets are so special to us! I am so sorry to hear of your loss.

I'm so sorry for you and your family.  It's one of the most difficult decisions to make, I know we had to put TopCat to sleep.  That was 6 months ago and we still mourn him.  You'll always remember him.  Lindy

Lyn  xxxxx I am so so sorry for your loss.  :(I'm so very sorry for your loss.  I went through that experience also over a year and a half ago.  I still miss my dog.I feel terrible for you. I haven't been through that yet, but I know it's coming. My old boy is 12. My eyes are tearing up, just thinking about what you just went through. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry for you and family, My heart goes out to you. I am so sorry for the loss of your pet and friend and for your son's sorrow. No matter how often one faces the loss of an animal companion (my cats would disdainfully identify me as the animal) it isn't something that becomes easier. My thoughts are with you and your family. I am so sorry for your loss and for your families grief. My retriever is getting like that now and I am dreading the outcome. My thoughts and prayers go out to you.I feel for you as I know what it is like.

I'm so sorry for your loss......  my pets are my other children.....Owie, I dont have the words to tell you how sorry I am.  I have been there and I know your pain.Oh, I am so sorry to hear this but you definately did the right thing by your dog.  I recently had to put my dog down about 6 weeks ago and understand what you are going through.  Hiking_galThank you everyone. We are getting through it. Son is definitely taking it the hardest though. Last night was rough. Hubby feeds the dogs and he accidentally put food in Hoover's dish which made us both sob when he realized what he'd done.  Hoover was a toy rat terrier and they like to tunnel under blankies, so he slept w/me. My bed felt big and lonely. It was so sad this morning. Our get up and go potty outside ritual was disturbed by the dogs looking all over the house for him before they finally went out. Of course that made me cry. Everything makes me cry. I hope it gets easier.... We put our kitty down last year, but we knew it was coming because she had been sick for a year. We grieved for her, but not like this. I guess it's harder when it is unexpected. I'm so sorry. My dog (pit/lab mutt) is definitely my third baby. She is almost 8 years old now and I can't imagine the sadness of losing her. My black cat had to be put down about two years ago and my dog still cries, squeals and whines when she sees a black cat from down the block walk past our house. Our pets are such a huge part of our families, but I don't know if people who have never had them truly understand. In any case, I just want you to know that I'm thinking of you and just try to think that somewhere Hoover is in doggie heaven, having a nice run, playing ball, laying in the sun and then topping it off with a big steak.
