Swelling on bottom of feet | Arthritis Information

I have had swelling on the bottoms of my feet for a couple of years now. it feels like a hard knot right in the ball of foot, I was Dx by a podiatrist with neuromas, but my Rd thinks it's arthritis. does anyone have this sort of pain in their feet?

One foot really bothers me when I'm on my feet for long periods of time, the other rarely does but still has the swelling. My meds do seem to be helping with the pain, but I'm curious why the swelling never goes away. my toes are giving me a pain on my bad foot also.
My feet are the worst by far. They are always swollen and walking on a bare floor is killer.  Yes, my feet give me the most problems as well...feels like I have a rock on the bottom of each foot when I walk.Yes. can barely walk now due to swelling and toes curled under. Hope you find someone with answers. Hugs to youFeet are the worse for me - and where my RA started.  I know I've over-extended myself when I can't fit into my "fat shoes" and the balls of my feet are sore.   Toe joints as well.   I tend to wear slippers at home even in the summer as it feels good to have something on my feet.   Wow I can't believe how many have sore feet.  My feet are always sore.  But I noticed if I wear shoes they don't hurt as bad.  Though they hurt for sure.

Hugs to you.  Sore feet really bites.
Yes my feet hurt.  I  walk like I'm walking on hot coals.   I put an icebag on them  to get rid of swelling.

Thanks for replies eveyone. maybe one day we will find relief My joint pain started in bottom/balls of feet as well. I went to a podiatrist and got custom orthotics to put in my shoes, they work great. They shift the weight off the painful joints.  My insurance paid for them, might be worth looking into it.  Hope you find some relief.

That's also there my RA started, in my feet. Now the balls of my feet and my heels hurt almost all the time when I'm walking. but I've noticed a difference just wearing shoes. Still hurts, but hot as bad!

When my feet and ankles get especially swollen, I have a spot on the bottom of my feet that also puffs up and hurts terribly.

I woulld guess that if the pain is helped by the meds but the swelling doesn't go away that the meds are taking care of the symptoms, but perhaps not the underlying disease process.

Thanks, That makes sense. I also use a shoe insert called Powerstep, it really helps.

I feel this too at times and using ice really does help. I have even put my feet in ice water to take the swelling down.
