Okay time for me to whin. My feet are so swelled and red. Now I have a golf ball size whatever on my right foot. Came up tonight. Hurts like you know what. Yes my toes still curled under. My hands are killing me.

I just went out in the back yard alone and cried. Didn't know what else to do, except have a pity party for me.
I am so angry! I want to do the things I love like camping hiking and geocaching. I want to have my poetry on paper...not encased in my mind when I can't use my fingers to put it on paper.
I know I am whinnig, but you all seem to care.Unlike my family. Sorry for the whinning

Pardon the paint on toes please.
lostpoet2008-08-21 07:38:54I'm just counting the days til you get to the doctor. Have you compiled a list yet? I really hope they will put you on something so you can get relief!lostpoet don't apologize. You have every reason to get your frustrations out. When the RA seems to get the best of me pain wise I do it too. I love to cook and bake and since RA I haven't been able to do to as much of that as I would like too. My hands and feet don't let me when the pain and swelling are really bad. It is good that we have this board so that we can be here for each other. I hope you'll fell better soon.   I really don't like to whin much, but tonight was a exception to my rule. Thanks all for listening to me. Love you allI'm so sorry about your hands and feet. How about getting a recorder and record your poems? Then when you get better you can translate them to paper.
Huh? Huh? Huh? Well, I thought it was a good idea. LOL
Tomorrow is my rd appt and my momma's going with me. Should be interesting. That poor doc doesn't know what he's in for with my momma.
I will either get fired or fire him. It's come down to that. I have seen him for four years and never have had an x-ray or mri. He does ck my blood every three months. Which has been good. So, yeah, should be a fun day!
**correction** I've seen him for 3 years. Still a long time to go without an xray. Isn't it?I hope you feel better.. Have you tried the gluten diet... it eases many a pain I have had. I hate it but it isnt so bad once you get going. Have you tried the hydrogen peroxide baths...
This helps me... soak only my hands r feet in
the one part hydrogen peroxide to ten parts warm water and I think you are suppose to add epsom salts.. I am not sure but it is suppose to help fizz out the bad and help oxygenate... I was worth a shot one day for me and it seemed to ease it a bit..
also a nice hot corn bag... put in microwave...
Are you feeling any stress (besides the RA) in your life... I swear it triggers me to no end.

I'm so sorry for what you are going through but how good that you are able to express your feelings and that you have this wonderful support group. Suggestions: I have the same type of problem with my hands and feet and have found a parafin bath to be moderately effective. Believe it or not, washing dishes is the best treatment I have ever found for my hands, no kidding. Last Thursday I went on the elimination diet per Robert McFerren and Dr. John Mansfield. Felt really sick Saturday, Sunday and Monday but by today - day 6 - the pain in my hands and feet is down by 80% and I can wear my rings for the first time in more than a year. I researched it for about 3 months before taking the plunge as it is a total lifestyle change:

http://jhackett_ra.tripod.com/index.html    Recovering from Rheumatoid Arthritis  You can no longer email him and none of the links work on the FAQ page but the info is good ground work.

http://www.frot.co.nz/dietnet/reviews/mcferran01.htm   Diet Net  I believe that the 'book' by Robert McFerren has yet to be published but that doesn't mean it won't work. Unfortunately it is also true it won't work for every one. Read all the chapters before trying the diet. McFerran book on DietNet: Chapters 1 – 15, Protocol Intro, Elimination Diet, HunterGatherer Diet, Agriculturist Diet, Mixed Diet

Dr. John Mansfield of the Burghwood Clinic  http://www.burghwoodclinic.co.uk/about/  is the author of Arthritis: Allergy, Nutrition & The Environment. You can find the book at Amazon.com.

Thanks bunches for the adive everyone. Big hugs too allOh Lostpoet,

I am seriously counting down the days until you get to see your doc and get some relief.  You are not whining you are in pain and need someone to understand that.  I wish there was some magic wand we could wave to take this pain from you.  PLease feel free to post and vent all you wish.  You have an appointment next week right?  Take those pictures with you.  Also, after they get this under control, you will be able to do the things you love to do.  Hey, I'm back to hiking and trailriding my horse where this time last year doing those things were completely out of the picture.  There is hope!  Take good care, Hiking_gal
My whole soul just weeps for you and the pain that you are in.
Just like the others have said, I can't wait till you get to the Rd and get some meds
to help you so you can do what you love to do. Lots of hugs to you!!!
Ouch Ouch Ouch......you def, arent whining. I hope you get some help with your appointment.
hugs
