Poem For The Day with Picture | Arthritis Information

In The 70’s

In the 70’s when I was on the strip

On 7th and on stage

Before the eager eyes

Oblivious to anything else

Life was a rocket shooting away from the Earth

And I… it’s booster.

For I was the ultimate fantasy

The Sally Ran

The Marilyn Monroe

The Ginsburg in reason

And the Thomas in vision.

In the 70’s dancing into there daydreams

That gave them pleasure

Such sweet secrets

Money came into the right hand

Existed out the left

And I pocketed what reality I could.

In the 70’s I followed the yellow brick road

In my black Omega

My only possession was at times…my home.

Like a muted friend we traveled north to south

South to north searching for anything

Love, happiness, a friend, the wizard?

Hell, who knows now.

In the 70’s I would lay in bed and watch

The colors explode before my eyes

Feel the bed spinning faster

Then waving as surf

Up…and…down.

I would pop more for intensity.

Life was a joke!

It was just a damn JOKE!

I escaped into the only reality I knew.

Delving into that space only I could see,

Kissed the scarecrow

Then said Goodbye to the 70’s

HI Lost,

Well that's very true you will always have art to hang.  I just like how you created the artwork to give a visual representation to the words.  Very nice...Hiking_gal
Ahhh the 70's- thanks for the memories!
