and 2nd, anyone on OPANA. its a major pain med.. pill form, but like a drip, ya know..
i think thats whats causing it...BC  you have to take on an empty tummy..

does this disease the symptons ever f.. stop?? i mean seriously!!!

and thks to you guys who answered other post.. thought it might have been too long, lol
i suck at cocktail talk..Opana is really powerful stuff I can see why you would be nauseated. I'm nauseous pretty much all the time even if I haven't had pain medicine. I've complained to my PMD and my rheumy both but they seem to think it's a transient thing and that it'll get better with time.I had some nausea with MTX, though not that bad.  It stopped when I changed to Arava.

I had some nausea initially, not sure it was mtx or relafen, but guessing relafen as I was taking it on a empty stomache.  Once I followed orders and took w/food, no nausea. I have a stomach made of stone-and some wobbly stuff on the outside....Hi Whispered, You're having a horrendous time and I know it's not easy for you.  I'm so sorry.  As far as nausea, it can be caused by numerous things:   medication, abnormal electrolytes, the disease itself, and stomach problems that have gone undiagnosed.  There's more but you get the picture.  It's a difficult symptom to diagnose and in your case could very well be medication induced.

The only times I've had ongoing nausea has been the times when I had low potassium.  I have a problem with keeping my potassium in the normal range.

Have your doctors given you anything for nausea.  There are meds that you can take.  Lindy
LinB2008-08-24 11:57:48I take Mtx and suffer horribly with nausea and headaches. I feel like a truch has hit me for several days after I take it.Yep, i have it but not because of drugs, just always have inflammation in my stomach and i can't smell some smells like white shoulders perfume and i can't eat things like chineese food.

The only time I was nauseous every day was when I was taking mtx. Haven't had a problem since  rheumy took me off of it.

Interesting that you asked me that........  ;)

Last tuesday, I woke up with a start at 4 a.m and thought I was going to "lose it" .. I didn't.. and was able to go back to sleep (w/ the trash can beside me) and when I got up at 6, I still felt sick..  It was all I could do to get ready for work..

It carried into the morning and I felt horrible until about 10 a.m...

I take MTX on Saturday night to battle the "uglies" on Sunday, when I don't have to work...so I don't think it was that...  I take my Requip (for RLS) with food.. an hour before bed..

but....

Ever since Tuesday morning, my gag reflex is in overdrive when I brush my teeth.. sometimes for no reason .. and sometimes when I'm hungry..

I'm wondering if it's accumulative stomach issues... so many meds that irritate for so long?  I'm thinking of asking for the MTX shot.. one less thing to deal w/ digestively.

I also think that I may have reflux... I don't know...   what are the symptoms?

Hope your nausea subsides, whispered
Nope doesn't bother me (***knock knock onwood****). I don't take opana. I try to take my meds with food so tummy doesn't bother me. I do have alot of gas which I think is from the relafen. (I know TMI) LOL
I hope it gets better for you guys/girls!
