OT Pop Tarts | Arthritis Information

OMG....I went to Wal-mart today.  Super Wal-mart, to be exact.  They have s-o-o-o-o-o-o many kinds of Pop Tarts!  Kinds I never knew existed!

For some reason, the 16 packs were less than the 12 packs, too.  We have a lot of Pop Tarts now LOL.

They have a new, limited edition gingerbread flavor.  With printed images, too.  OMG.  Bought two 16 packs of those because they also have no milk in them (for my dairy-intolerant child).

And Super Wal-mart also has different combo packs.  4 Smores/4 brown sugar/4 vanilla milkshake.

I love Pop Tarts, but never knew how much fun Pop Tart shopping could be outside my normal grocery store!
Sounds like you really like Pop Tarts!

My kids love the Smores ones. I'm old school and still love the frosted strawberry! Mmmm. I'm hankering for a snack!
I was strictly a blueberry guy until Cookies N' Cream came out.  OMG they are the best thing ever.   Pop tarts & roaches only things that will survive atomic bombs! Stock up on all you can and make a bomb shelter out of them! Just think if an atomic bomb gets dropped your way... you will have nice toasted pop tarts in a few seconds LOL!!

I do not care for pop tarts. Hubby & kids love them, but to me they just taste so bland. Like eating cardboard, and yes I know what cardboard tastes like. LOL!

Glad someone loves pop tarts, because if it were only me... they would go out of business. LOL!!I like Pop Tarts but not enough to justify the fat and calories they have. Especially since they are so thin and do not fill me up.

My latest PASSION is Turkey Hill Limited Edition Coconut Cream Pie  ice cream. OMG it's to die for!   I only allow myself a half size serving but I savor every spoonful.
In college I lived on pop-tarts (raspberry RULES!) and raviolios (eaten right out of the can, with a plastic spoon, on the way to class). My poor uncle ate pop tarts every day for at least the last ten years of his life.  He loved them.  Even when he was reaching the end stages of cancer and didn't have an appetite, they could get him to eat a pop tart!

I prefer Toaster Struedels, but only have those now and then.  I prefer a good old southern fried egg sandwich!
Eat em up LP- you need the weight!!! Take advantage of it! You know it's no laughing matter but that was my silver lining when RA ate me up alive at onset. I ate everything I loved! I love food! I ate big ol' greasy burgers, french fries and washed it down with a thick milkshake! me & my husband would make popcorn at night and pour on the melted butter.
It was a scary time to be dropping weight despite the above but oh I enjoyed myself!
Okay, yes, I like all Pop Tarts, but am less partial to the so-called 'fruit' ones - BUT I have never had raspberry!!!!  Now Jas has me on a mission to find some!  Do they still make them?

When I was pregnant, I would take a chocolate fudge Pop Tart and spread peanut butter on it and stick banana slices to it.

Guess what?  The limited edition gingerbread ones come in the usual silver wrapper, but it is decorated to look like a package and even has a "To/From" tag you can fill in LOL.  For those hard-to-buy for people on your list!!!!
Okay, yes, I like all Pop Tarts, but am less partial to the so-called 'fruit' ones - BUT I have never had raspberry!!!!  Now Jas has me on a mission to find some!  Do they still make them?

Yep - my oldest son is also hooked on Raspberry.  They are available in plain and frosted.  Our local grocery chain (Jewel-Osco) also carries a house brand of pop-tarts, and they make raspberry as well.

Must be regional then.  I'm on a quest, like no other since Lori Davis quit making hairspray (I think that was the brand; funny I can't remember since it involved four or five states and took up most of 1998.)
Amazon has 'em
Amazon has 'em
Starting with a case of 96.....hmmmm.....I'm going to have to think about that one LOL.  Let me try some of the grocery stores in the little outlying towns I travel to for work before I commit to a case!  And some of our 'burbs have a lot of transplants that they take request orders for, so they might stock what my store here doesn't.
Love me some cherry frosted pop tarts. I use to eat them everyday at work for breakfast. I cut it out when I started gaining so much weigh...but I still have them on occations. Yummy.I just had some mango/guava kind.  The labels were all in Spanish.  The were pretty good..but strawberry is still my favoriteMango/guava? Wow, that sounds so awesome! And I've got to try the cookies and cream. So many pop tarts so few toasters! Three words.....hot fudge sunday.  A girl I had some classes with brought some of these little babies in one fine morning and wow were they gooooood.  The smores ones are my second favorite followed by the cookie dough ones.  Man, I just gained 5 pounds talking about them!

I disagree with the atomic bomb thing.  I think twinkies and roaches are the only things that will survive an atomic blast.  At least that's what they said on Family Guy.  (love that cartoon)
T I don't care for the chocolate varieties - I much prefer a good chocolate bar if I'm gonna eat chocolate.  My faves are the fruity pop-tarts.  Especially raspberry!!! Ok guys....my vote goes to toaster streudels. They are the BEST!!Didn't know there were SOOOOO many kinds of Pop Tarts.  Will have to try some.Only here on the arthritis board can we get three pages out on pop tarts, LOL. You guys are a kick. They don't cure RA???? Darn, I thought I read that somewhere.......I'm sure the raspberry ones do!  Lindy
They don't cure RA???? Excuse me while I run to the grocery for research suppliesWe have some amazing "hippy" bakeries where I live. This is kind of a granola town I live in but can those hippies bake!!. So that is what I buy for treats. Jas, where do I sign up for the research study.  Even though I eat really healthy and very seldom slip up sometimes I just need a break and a raspberry pop tart satisfies me and according to someone it might cure my RA!  Maybe if I rub it all over the offending joint the pain will go away, hmmm.....I'll let you know.  Lindy
Lindy
I'll draw up the protocol and let you know. I see two big problems with our study:  we would not be able to do a double-blind study (you KNOW when you're eating a raspberry pop-tart and when you just WISH you were) and funding.  Do you think Kellog's might send us a few cases of research supplies? hi guys, what a fun post!!
as some of you know, i'm big into coupons and bargins, so when i found them for 1.30 for 8, a box, I stocked up w/ about 15 boxes!! lol
I love frosted strawberry!!!  I'm one of those people find a flavor i love and stick to it!!  and yes, i also love toaster strudels.. i waver btwn the 2.. but at the moment, i've got about 13 more boxs, of tarts left, LoL
ought to get me thru the winter! :P
.
its nice to have some light hearted topics hereWhispered can be our secret shopper......at her prices we can afford to buy our own.  We don't want Kellogg to be polluting our study or interfering.  L
Whispered can be our secret shopper......at her prices we can afford to buy our own.  We don't want Kellogg to be polluting our study or interfering.  L
Ooh - good point.  No bias.  I like it!  Maybe we could use treats from Lorster's hippy bakery in the study as well - to contrast "natural" vs. "Big Grain."

Oh this is going to be quite an interesting study!!!
Bring on the Toaster Streudel.
I should have put my foot down about Toaster Streudels a long time ago LOL.  Pop Tarts are better than Toaster Streudels because they can be eaten RAW!

I'm not afraid to have Pop Tarts in my otherwise healthy diet for one big reason - I eat the most of them in my family and go to the doctor the least!  Knock on wood....

You may have a point.  My husband hates pop-tarts and he had a heart attack.  I don't know any pop-tart addicts who have had a heart attack.  Must be a connection there somewhere!
