Just wondering what everyone is up to this weekend.

I don't want to say Good Bye to summer!!!!! Although fall here is usually an Indian Summer I know the winter is coming and I hate cold, gray skies, dead trees and snow. Lately I even feel cold in the summer so I am really dreading it his year!

I will be making the best of it though! Well- first I have to get my GYN appointment over this morning...

This afternoon is a BBQ over my nephew's which should be a lot of fun. Sunday  & Monday I will be lying by our pool soaking up every last bit of summer sun and then my husband will close it.  Have some steaks and lobster claws for the grill on Monday- haven't decided on Sunday's grilling menu yet-maybe game hens.
Wanttobe...I feel for ya but just remember that you are giving your summer to others. Like us here in NZ!!
YAAAAAHHH!! About blardy time too, this has been a nasty winter and one of the reasons I am taking oral VitD. It has rained for weeks and the sunshine these past few days has been a shock to the system!

You will get the summer back when we are done with it OK?

Cheers....Lyn  [QUOTE=LyndeeNZ]Wanttobe...I feel for ya but just remember that you are giving your summer to others. Like us here in NZ!! YAAAAAHHH!! About blardy time too, this has been a nasty winter and one of the reasons I am taking oral VitD. It has rained for weeks and the sunshine these past few days has been a shock to the system! I'll admit it!  I am a summer hog.  If I could hld on to summer I would, even if it meant perpetual winter in NZ.  Does that make me a bad person? :)

Today I'm goin' fishin'. It
s a gorgeous day in Michigan, perfect for a boat and a small lake and a sister.   And a big fat juicy burger and an ice cold beer.
It is beautiful today in MI : )  I have two days off to do absolutely nothing but spend time with the kids and then I work 12 hours on the holiday : (  I too am a summer lover and hate the idea of Fall and Winter. It's a beautiful day here in Ontario, Canada and we're bbqing some steaks for a few family members that I haven't seen for a while this afternoon.  I've been doing some cleaning plus babysitting Bailey (she's napping right now) and looking forward to a relaxing day with a couple of glasses of wine and some good conversation.
The rest of our weekend I haven't thought about yet, but looks like good weather for whatever we do.
Have a good weekend, everyone!
It's glorious here in the Columbia Gorge area of Washington but a little chilly.  We're off to Hood River today to shop and then this evening we'll be grilling at the clubhouse and golfing till dark.  Tomorrow we're headed out for a picnic and to look for agates in Rock Creek and Monday I'm going to start packing up for our trip back to Yuma and then to Mexico.  I hate to say it but my summer will continue because of going to Mexico for 8 months.  We follow the sun.  LindySnowOwl, I'm abit like you.I love to watch the seasons change. My problem is winter is too long for me. Stuck in the house because of 0-dergess tempts. Love the fall though, gives me inspiration to write. I also love the spring..inspiration once again. My saddess poems come in the winter. I hate being stuck in the house. Summer on the other is a free-for-all. Inspiration comes in the blink of an eye.
My poetry revolves around seasons. Well, let me warn all you mid westerners what is coming your way. It is beautiful here in southwest montana but the rain is starting in tonight and it is supposed to rain for the next three days...and it is moving your way...LOL. So soak it up now while you have that nice weather. I'm personally so bummed that it is about over cuz I also hate winter and everything about it. Winter also hates me so the feeling is mutual. But I do hope everyone has a great holiday weekend. I too love the summer, still light at 10pm, sitting on my garden swing on those warm summer evenings is my idea of bliss. The smell of BBQ's ,sun tan lotion and the sea.
I love Autumn too,  the changing colours of the leaves, the crispy frost on the ground and the smell of fresh air. Now winter is ok, I love the ice cold days ( does my RA good) and the crackling fires, smell of winter cooking.....Its just the grey, "is it going to rain " kind of days that I hate ...........we have lots of those in the UK.
Usually by the end of a season I'm happy to see another one come in, but for some reason I'm not wanting to say goodbye to summer this year. Maybe because we didn't get it until the beginning of August up here in Northern Ontario!! But Snow Owl sure made autumn and winter sound alright and it will be nice to have the kids into a routine again. But I'll get some more sun and heat when we head to Houston next month.

This weekend my dad came home from China, my sister took my youngest daughter camping, my other daughter is hanging out with cousins and we're doing whatever we can to enjoy the warm sunshine!
