anyone have back pain?  If so do you think it is ra related and where is your pain?I have lower back pain on occasion - it's definitely related to stupid human tricks (yardwork, moving furniture, free weights at the gym)... Yes I have back pain. Not as bad since I stoppedd working, but still there. I used to wear heat patches on both sides of my spine and a back brace just to get through the day. Not sure if it is RA related though. Thanks, it's better today, just hate to blame everything on ra!!Hi Reggie, I have back pain in several different areas, L5/S1 area, and rt. side muscle.  L5/S1 area has RA nodules/spurs on my spine.  They were cleaned off in 1999 when I had a decompression after blowing a disk, but are probably back again.  The rt. side muscle is one that I irritate on a regular basis by golfing.  LindyI get back pains in my lower back too. More on the left side close to my hip to the center of my back. I try to wash dishes and it really hurts and I have to go and take lots of breaks. It hurts so bad sometimes the dishes don't get done. LOL

I'm up at 4:00am with horrible back pain this morning. I took a nap yesterday afternoon and somehow hurt it turning over. When I tried to get up I could barely move. I have trouble occationally with a buldging disk. No doubt that's the problem right now. It hits me occationally and usually passes in a few days....but I have continuing problems with RA in my back.

Some don't think RA effects the back; but I saw a spine specialist whe swears it does.
Had lower back pain since my 20's.  More on the right side.  There wayyyy before my RA dx.  Hurts when I stand a lot or work (nursing on a med/surg floor).my pain is in my mid to upper back and hurts through my neck and shoulders.  does anyone else have pain there or is everone's in their lower back?  Mine is pretty much just the lower part of my back. I'd say it starts about an inch below the middle of my back. Mine is lower low thoracic and low back.  LindyI have significant damage throughout my spine, with DDD and spinal stenosis. Whether it comes from RA or OA, don't know for sure -- but it hurts just the same. That's exactly where mine is, pretty sure it's RA related. I'm going to ask my dr. about it at my appointment Tuesday.
Thanks everyone
