For women who take enbrel ??? | Arthritis Information

You guys might want to skip this. It's a female question.

Do any women here take enbrel and have had any problems with Aunt Flo?
For the last four months I have had nothing but problems. I have Aunt Flo visit every two weeks for 8 to 13 days and it is HEAVY AND GROSS! I also have awful cramps. MY PCP sent me to a gyn for what was supposed to be an ultrasound but turned into a biospy of my uterus. They didn't get enough tissue so rather than have me go through that again they had me taking hormones for the first ten days of the month. Well I started two weeks to the day that I stopped this month and called dr to see if I should take hormones now or wait til the first of the month. She called back and had me come in to get a depo premara (? not sure of sp) to get it to stop. That was yesterday and still going strong with Aunt Flo. I hope this shot works. I just want to go and get a hysterectomy just to get this over with.
Just wondering if anyone else has this problem.
Thanks for your replies.
take care
That's simular to the way I started for about a year before they stopped all together. I went into menopause at 32/33 years old. It was likely caused by MTX or even the RA itself they think. I was put on HRT and contiuned on it for the next three years I guess. I've also had the ultrasound where they look at my uterus. They put some sort of saline in there and blow up your uterous to see if there's a reason the the bleeding. I had a polyp. Friday I had a D&C and something else I can't remember what it was called to remove it. They scraped the uterus and send everything off for biopsy. Wasn't fun...but nessessary I guess.

Might not have anything to do with your Enbrel Cindee. Do they think it's related?
That happened to me in my early 40s. I went on very low dose HRT to help. It worked until I was 48 when I had to stop because of a blood clot (unrelated to HRT I have an autoimmune clotting disease too). I was also on Enbrel, but don't think that had anything to do with it.

sounds like I was in my early 40's due to a fibroid.. had the D&C done and the fibroid removed and a couple of years after I stopped menses alltogether..

Thanks for your replies! I don't know if it has anything to do with the enbrel or not but the print out from the pharmacy said that it can make it so you don't clot when you bleed. So I didn't and still don't know if it's related. I am 41 almost 42 and people with ra go through the change earlier from what I heard. ????????????????????????

Just wanted to see if I got any replies to it.
thanks!
take care!
This happened to me pre RA too. I had such heavy bleeding I had anemia. ( I was 46) I had an endometrial ablation and a myomectomy. That means they cuterized all my blood vessels in the uterus and removed a couple fibroids. My spelling is atrocious.
Anyhoo- I had two years out of it and now my bleeding is getting heavier and heavier. My GYN found a large fibroid on the outside of my uterus this time and some smaller ones inside. He said hopefully I will go into menopause soon and they will shrink- hence no surgery. Gee which option should I look forward too..... :(
