I hope everyone who is in the path of Gustav is ok, Is Joonie down that way? Fox news just mentioned ALABAMA .

Please stay safe.
Isn't Joonie in Alabama? We have had bad weather on the outskirts since 5 last night, but luckily the big bands missed us.  We are full up from Faye.  Hanna has me concerned.

Loving thoughts and prayers to everyone.
Gustav looks really scary.  I saw a press conference from New Orleans, they were telling people to evacuate, saying, "THIS is the storm of the century", like they should expect worse than Katrina.  I can't imagine.  I hope everyone gets out okay.   I have friends in LA and MS who have evacuated... and one in Houston, who has not as yet..

I will keep all in my thoughts... I hope they are safe

Prayers for all affected.

Pin Cushion-

Do you get FOx News in England?

Jan

Weather forecasters just extended the Warning to include the TX coast.  We live in TX 60 miles inland and we will mostly likely experience heavy rains, wind and tornadoes.  We have decided to shelter in place at this time.  Thank you all for your concern and prayers!

Take care.
Txnana  :)
Jan- yes we do if we have Sky digi box, but its also been on BBC world news too.
Txnana please take care
Txnana - loving thoughts and prayers for your community.  And after experiencing 8 hurricanes in 8 years in Florida, clean, new unopened bags of underwear from kids to girls to men is the greatest contribution you can make.  Nobody wants to wear old underwear from someone else.  I know that's what I will put in as our contribution in our community's effort to send to the Gustav damage area.  I am grateful to live in such a giving town.
That's a great idea!  One of the groups I belong to is gathering supplies to send down there.  I'll toss in the skivvies.

Prayers going out for all those in its path.

lorrie2008-11-21 22:32:26Will send prayers up for all affected! My sister lives about 45 minutes from New Orleans and is staying (in a trailer).  Along with my 15 year old niece. She lost her house during Katrina. Huge pine trees fell on it and then all the rain ruined everything. She says she made it through Katrina, she can make it through this one. She said if it gets too bad she will go to a friend's brick house. She did say she went to Walmart and stocked up on candles, batteries, water, food, etc. My mom is so worried and so am I. We are so worried. During Katrina we had to go 10 days before we heard is she was alive. I don't know if we could go through this again. Then she told me she couldn't drive out because the gas stations are out of gas.
Geez,
Just say a prayer or two.
thanks!
My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone thereCindee- prayers going up for your sister and you & your mom for your worries! Keep us posted! My heart is breaking for the people of NOLA that they have to go through this again.  Watching the water slosh over the levees in the ninth ward, I am reminded how devastated that area was with Katrina, and now it threatens to breach the levee again.  I can't comprehend how you deal with that.

Sure makes my problems seem mighty small.  It really puts things into perspective.  I pray that the levees hold and these poor people have homes to return to.
We are sat here watching the water lap over the barrier, I hope it holds as there is a lot of water behind it. It is the rain rather than the winds that seem to be the problem with this hurricane and now they are saying there are 2 more in the gulf. How awful for those affectedThinking of you and your mum and sister Cindee.......I hope and pray all is well.

Thanks for all the prayers and good thoughts for my sister.
She texted and said they were fine, wet but fine. They got lucky and this one wasn't as strong as Katrina. She said they also don't have power. It's going to be another huge clean up down there.
Thanks again for your kinds words and prayers.
