I've been away from here for so long, I had to pop in and say  hello.

We had our house remodeled this summer. New siding, windows, a farmers porch built. We had a new shed put up. We did a semi remodel of the kitchen, added a door and some more cabinets, painted the entire downstairs, ceilings and mouldings. I'm totally exhausted. I did all of the painting and cabinet work myself.
Update for me. I went to the rhuemy last week. She put me on methotrexate, the plaquinel wasn't helping, not by itself anyway. I'm taking 15 mg a week of mtx, keeping my fingers crossed that it helps. My hands/feet/knees are killing me. Still, no visible swelling at all.
Because my feet hurt like they do, she suspects I have neuropathy. she is checking my blood to see if it is possibly gout. But, she wants me to see a neurologist.
She also wants me to see a cardiologist. I've been having a tightening feeling in my chest, accopanied with dizzy spells and hot flashes. Scares the crap out of me when it happens, which isn't too often, but happens non the less. 3 months ago my echo came back perfect.
I also have to have my spine x-rayed and have an MRI, for possible bulging disc. I'll be heading back to my least favorite thing, PT.
so that is me in a nutshell, a big one too. I'm 36 and don't feel nearly as sick as she thinks I am. My business partner says she's just going to put me out of my misery with a bullet in the head. (She's kidding!)
I hope all is well with all of you. I wanted to check in because it has been so long. I'm going to try to catch up with what's going on here on the boards.
Hi Deb
I think you probably went away before I joined but I wanted say hello. I am on MTX 15 mg a week also. I don't have terrible pain but pain in the same areas as you with no visable swelling. I've been on it since Dec. 07. Just wondering...are your inflammation markers high? Mine are normal range and I am perplexed as to why I have pain at all.
It gets tiresome having all these doctor's appointments doesn't it? Hope all tests come out well for you!

No, my markers are not high. My RF is elevated, but not high. No visible swelling, but pain. Confusing I know. But my doc is wonderful and believes that I feel pain and is willing to go all the way to treat this and put it into remission. I'm tired of all these appointments, yeah. I am going to see my primary soon to get pnemonia shot, so I'm going to ask his opinion about the cardiologist and neurologist. (sp bad, I know)
Yeah, you were around when I was "active" here before. I didn't post much, but learned alot here. As you can see, I only have a bit over 300 posts.
Hi Debbie. Nice to see you. The house sounds wonderful! I'm so jealous.

Sorry to hear you aren't in perfect health. Hope the MTX does the trick. I've got a buldging disk myself and have had a hard time with it this weekend. After a few days of rest and muscle relaxers it gets better. I've struggled with it for years but have fought going to PT.

Hope you're back to stay.

Hi Deb, just wanted to add I have no visable swelling either, my feet are my worst pain, are you having stinging pain at all? I'm thinking that my damage may be nerve related. I know how hard you've been working!! I just did some painting myself, it's very challenging!! I love doing things like that though! glad to see you back.........Good luck with the pt.

Deb- My RD is repeating my RF and ANA, Anti-CCP tests as the others are all normal, to see where we are.

Janlee- when you say stinging you don't mean shooting do you? Lately I have been getting those types of pain in my toes and fingers.
Hi Deb, you have been one busy lady!!  I love to paint walls and woodwork.  I know it's strange but I find it very relaxing.  It sounds lovely.  Seems like your RD is working for you and with you.  That's one of the most important aspects of whipping the RA beast into submission.  Keep us posted on how you're doing.  Lindy[QUOTE=wanttobeRAfree]Deb- My RD is repeating my RF and ANA, Anti-CCP tests as the others are all normal, to see where we are.

I guess it could be classified as shooting, all I know is when I'm on my feet too long the ball of my foot and toes will let me know it........
Nice to meet you Deb.  I have been gone from the board for quite awhile also.

I hope the mtx does the trick for you and you are on your way to feeling better quickly!
