I've got an appointment tomorrow morning and I'm hoping to start a treatment for my RA (haven't been on anything yet), in your experience how soon after your appointment did you start a treatment? I'm hoping I can get on one SOON. REALLY SOON. But I don't know what to expect. I've been to the Rheumatologist before, just haven't gotten on anything.

I was put on prednisone after my first visit while tests were still being done. Once I got the dx of RA I was then put on methotrexate as well.I've already been diagnosed, and I was on prednisone for a while, but that's all. I'm hoping to not go on prednisone again. I'm hoping since I already have a diagnosis I'll be able to start something soon.
Hi Kizzie, I was put on arthrotec first but I dont hear of that med being given anymore. Then I was put on avara.Every doctor is different and depending on how advanced your RA is depends on the meds they will put you on. I hope the appointment is a good one

My Rd started my treatment right away as I think most do if you have been Dx ,as you have.And as pin cushion said , it depends on your Rd and how advanced your Ra is.
