                                 Dedicated To My Brother

                               KIA-1969

                                  1969

He left his home full of courage in 1969.
                       He flew across the ocean,
didn't know it would be the last time.
                          Left behind a mother,
                           a father and a wife.
                              He had no idea,
he'd be victim to a knife.
                    The jungle was much harsher,
than he though it would be.
                      He saw the enemy coming,
                             ran to get free.
                    The shells hurled around him,
                     the smoke dimmed his eyes.
                      Feels the knife go deeper,
                           hanging on he tries.
                         He looks into the face,
of a child no more than nine.
                             He died a hero,
                                 in 1969.

                          Forever in our Hearts
                           Sgt. David H. Hack
That is a sad but thoughtful poem. Beautiful!Yes my brother died in Veitnam. Just landed and was kiled by a child. I will never get over this. I still see him in my dreams.
