Before The People Before the people there was silence And the calming music of Katydids or locust. All of nature wrapped around us and nothing else mattered. Ferns, leaves and the smell of sweet grass exploded our senses and all was quiet and just us. Until the people came. All the peaceful stopped. It was back to everyday, in everyway. Exactly what I could have stayed home for But chose not to. We had one night. One silence. One music. One of us before the people. Cinda July 2008
