Well I finally did if, so far I have not fallen at work, but today I did, in front of my whole office and sprained my ankle too and hurt my knee. I guess I will figure out how bad it is when I get home. UGH.  Sorry to hear this.  When you have recovered, maybe you can figure out how it happened and see if you can prevent it from happening again!  I try and move slowly and carefully to prevent a fall.  I posted a site for Fall Prevention awhile ago.

Take care.

I fall all the time at home, I think I am more careful at work, but I literally just tripped over my own feet and fell right in the center of the office.  I just did that too, it's embarrassing and it hurts! mine was caused by construction dust on the marble floor. It was a matter of time before someone fell, so of course it had to be me. My entire kneecap is bruised. I told the GM, but he didn't care...

I hope you aren't too hurt. Rest up and take it easy when you get home.
Anyone know why it HAS to happen in the middle of the office??? ugh
My knee feels better, my ankle is swollen and bruised, but I can walk on it so I think it'll be ok as long as I rest and ice it tonight. only 50 more minutes until I can go home.  Owiemom-

I thought a work environment was supposed to be free of hazards!!!
Oh so sorry. I know it's embarrasing! Like the time I fell in the WalMart parking lot.
Please take it easy tonight and see your dr. if your ankle still is swollen and hurts. You may have a hairbone fracture.

Ouchie! I hope it gets better.
I fell years ago at work. I thought my chair was there and I went to sit and boom right on the butt! I was so embarrassed! My dress was up and everyone got to see my who-ha!!
I never wear dresses anymore because of that and that was in the 80's. LOL
Baby it tonight. Ice it and hopefully tomorrow is a better day.
take care
I've got a rare talent for tripping over absolutely nothing and falling over.  I tend to move before I think, or move while the brain is actively focused on other things.  I've gotten better over the years - I discovered that small children don't really care if mom twisted her ankle; they want food/clean diaper/facetime NOW.  My husband threatened to dress me in bubble wrap when we first got married - especially when I was pregnant!  my parents put me in ballet classes because of my lack of grace. Now I can fall on my face like a beautiful swan...I love this "My husband threatened to dress me in bubble wrap"
My husband says I am a total clutz. I tend to fall when I'm on things, like standing on a chair to paint the bathroom...yeah that was fun. I broke some glass knick knacks on my way down. I try to move too fast when I shift my feet when I'm up high. I'm much more careful now when standing on things up high.
I forgot to say, I hope you are feeling better soon. Just take it slow on that ankle, and while at work. Did anyone come to help you up and see if you were okay, or did they just stop and stare? Has your employer taken care of the expenses via Workmen's Comp?  It doesn't matter if it was their fault or yours - workmens' comp is no-fault, and is part of your total compensation package (even though it doesn't show up on your pay stub).  I don't recommend pushing the issue if it's just a minor ankle twist, but if you have to go for x-rays, etc, be sure to be honest with the doctors and tell them it happened at work.  They should know how to bill workmens' comp.  In fact, if it was a serious fall, your employer should have called an ambulance or had someone take you to an acute care center to at least get an xray.

I sprained my thumb at work once while trying to reach into my desk drawer to get a pen.  I caught the thumb on the side of my desk.  I went to HR to ask for some paper tape so I could immobilize the thumb - she sent my right over to the acute care center.  I tried to argue the point and she said that it happened at work, therefore it was covered under workmens' comp, and company policy dictated that I go to the acute care center (hospital if it was life-threatening).
I am ok. It is my "bad" ankle. About 10 years ago, I passed out and rolled down three flights of stairs, I had a concussion, a couple of nasty hematomas, a fractured ankle and a sprained ankle. This was the previous fractured ankle. It got a lot stronger after PT and water aerobics, but lately I have been rolling/spraining it more often.

I put ice on it and it is just a minor sprain, actually doesn't really hurt at all until I put a little weight on it at the right angle which is not the angle that walking requires so we're all good.  My knee never swelled up more than it already was and doesn't hurt any worse than it did before I fell so it is ok too.
