Another question for enbrel users | Arthritis Information

If you are also on methotrexate, do you take that and your enbrel on the same day? Or do you space them out on different days of the week?

Just wondering because it seems like it would be more convenient to remember them if they were both on the same day.

But, on the other hand, not sure if taking them both on the same day is more apt to cause side effects (ex. nausea).

So, am curious what others do.

thanks
Enbrel on Weds.  MTX on Saturday.  It just happened that day because I started enbrel while at the Drs office and kept with that schedule.  I need the weekend for the MTX.So, MJ, for you, the MTX causes more side effects than the Enbrel? For me, so far, it's been the opposite. I started taking the MTX on Saturday so I'd have the weekend to deal with any nausea, but I'm finding that I have worse GI symptoms after the Enbrel, which I take on Tuesday. I am seriously beginning to think that I should ease my injection over a day each week until I am receiving them both on Saturday. Or possibly take the Enbrel Friday night. Dunno, but this nausea during the week is about to get me down. I was on Enbrel and MTX at one time. I found I had nausea a few days after I took the MTX. When I was weaned off the MTX my nausea stopped completely.I get headaches and some dizziness from Enbrel.  I just think the two togther on one day would be too much for me.Well, apparently, it was the MTX causing my nausea after all. It was worsening each week and then about 2 weeks ago my rheum recommended that I take 4 tabs on my usual day (Saturday) and the remaining 4 on Wednesday. So far that's working pretty well for me.
