Yes, you read that right! Here let me repeat it for you again....

Life sure is full of crap balls!

I have been getting bills in the mail from the hospital. It is for some bloodwork hubby's insurance will not pay and medicaid will not pay on it until hubby's insurance does. Yeah... I know seems like I should just pay the and be done with it. BUT NO! I called the hospital back in May to find out why they would not pay for that test. She said it said for subscriber to call as they needed some information before they paid on it. So... I call as soon as I hang up with the billing lady at the hospital. They told me administration had denied it for some reason and they were sending it back through. I called the next time I got another bill the next month from the hospital. It said the same thing and insurance company said the same thing.

AND NOW!!!!!

I got a FREAKING "bill" from a collection agency in the mail today!

I went to the billing office last week after I got done with my QV Scan. Because I got yet another bill from them in the mail saying I owed 1.98 + .00 I owed! The lady said nothing to me about it was being sent off to a collectiion agency. I asked her about the amount specificially, and all she said was no one had paid on it yet and it was still out there for medicaid or BC/BS to pay it.

This is just FREAKING annoying!

My co-pays are adding up & so are the unpaid bills that none of my insurances seems to want to pay.

I guess when life throws crap balls at ya, you just try to make crap ball shakes!

Ok I just called and dude wanted me to pay. He said if insurance pays within 45days they will reinburse me my .

Crazy crap!

Well, I told him I will pay them when I come incontact with again LOL! He said if it is before the 19th they will not do something having to do with credit bureau. I forget what he said.

So... Yeah... more calling BC/BS.
Ok... I called BC/BS and they said the hold had been lifted and she was running it back through the system to update the billing. And I should not have to pay the .

I told the lady that is what the last lady I talked to said and yet, I was handed over to a collection agency. She said I cannot say what the other lady you talked to done, but I can tell you what I am going to do. I said ok.... now how I get this collection agency to drop it? She said for me to call hospital billing and let them know it was going to be paid for by BC/BS.

I called hospital billing and left a message for someone to call me back. And when they call me back they are going to tell me what the 1.98 comes from too!
I know I know, but to save your sanity, and your credit rating , pay the .00 and have the insurance company pay you instead!
Not what you should have to do , but Sanity ya know!
Yeah... I would pay them their .00, but I do not have that much.

You know I am very overtired and "bored" (for lack of a better word) when I chat it up with with credit card callers that I have been avoiding for over a month now. LOL! Yep, I chatted with the lady for 15 mins and not much of it was about the balance due. We talked about how I am a nite owl and how her daughters are too. and how the calls from them begin at 8:00am exactly and a few times at 7:49am. Yep... we had a good ole chat.

Man I need friends LOL!
Joonie, they won't sue you for 24.00.  It would cost them way more than that in lawyer fees.  If a collection agency can't collect 24.00, they'll just close the account.  I'm not saying you shouldn't if you find out it really is your resposibilty to pay.  I'm just saying, take the time you need to sort it out.  The agency will wait. What a nightmare! I'm sorry :(
Funny about chatting with the cc lady though!  You can always chat with us.  Your posts are always fun to read :)  And I like it when other people write posts almost as long as mine.  I always write way too much.  You are better about putting spaces in there and the font you use makes it easier to read
Well... the billing ladt from the hospital called me back. I told her what the lady at BC/BS said and she looked it up and it was marked as pending. So... she told me not to worry about it, because they will just send the agency the .00.

I asked her about the 1.98 and she said it was from my visit to the ER in oct '07. I told her my co-pay should have only been 0. She said yeah it is and then they added a 0-something for deductible. I was like Deductible??!?! She said yeah. Then she told me Medicaid had not paid on it yet either. So... here's to hoping!

Then when I hung up I said to myself "I will not go to the ER  again, even if I am dying!" LOL! Then I thought.... "Opps, too late already been there when I thought I was dying!" LOL!!

*shakes head*
I feel for you. I went through this last year when a hospital billed my dental insurance for spine xrays and when it was returned to them, they just sat on it rather than calling me or re-submitting. Didn't know about it till it was turned over to collection agency. Finally got Dr to resubmit and insurance paid it in a matter of days. grrrr...After the husband's heart attack, we were sent to collection agencies by both hospitals and a couple of doctors' groups.  We were both covered under both of our employer's policies (long story, but I assure you there was a reason that made sense at the time).  Anyway, after the heart attack, my insurance company was ready to pay the entire bill in its entirety, as emergencies were covered at 100% no matter if you went to a hospital/doctor in the plan or not.  Meanwhile, husband's insurance company couldn't decide what to pay - husband had the nerve to drop dead at work and get taken by ambulance without getting preapproval, without contacting his primary physician, and he went to the wrong hospital.  It took a couple of months to get the mess straightened out, and then another month or so to get the bills paid.  To make matters worse, my husband was not in his right mind for a couple months after the heart attack.  He did not believe he even had a heart attack and we had to argue with him every day to get him to take meds that he insisted he did not need.  Well, when he went to get the mail, he saw bills from the doctors and hospitals and threw them away because it was obvious to him that someone had made a mistake, because HE had not been sick.  And when he answered the phone and they told him he owed them money, he also told them in no uncertain terms that he had never been in XYZ hospital or seen Dr. So-n-So.  I think I spent as much time laughing as I did cursing.  It eventually all got straightened out, but yikes what a nightmare.
