We need a new forum room | Arthritis Information

I noticed that when i went to read some posts to help people (if i know what they need) that most of them were off topic subjects.

I know i have been out for most of the time due to hurricane gustav, but the forum seems to have changed around quite a bit.
stick around, because I've noticed that the board does this on occasion then bounces back. There does seem to be more than usual threads that are off topic, but as long as people keep typing OT in the headline, it sure helps. I hope it bounces back soon....We could use a chitchat forum.
Sometimes I am not having AI issues but have other things I'd like to chat about with all of you since I feel that we have built some kind of bond with one another.
We have been over and over this....
Some of us like a little variety on this board.  Yes, it is a RA board, but geez, can't we be more than that?  I get sick of the same old same old day in and day out.  I haven't posted for months because it seemed to be a pity party everytime I logged on.  It is always the same people complaining about every little ache and pain they have.  It is nice to see a little variety and get to know people better than just their RA.  Do we still post about RA, YES!  and we should!!!  This board is all about support and will continue to be so.  Trust me, if you move the OT subjects, you won't have anyone on this thread.
Phats
Just my .02 It's true; like Phat says.....it won't change, and like Owie says it will bounce back. It goes through stages here where other things seem to take over. I imagine from now through November Politics are going to be on every ones mind. This morning and last night Texas has been on my mind. I'm just getting in so I haven't noticed; do we have an OT Hurricane thread? After watching all of that; nothing seems so important anymore.

I do think everyone needs to continue to be mindful of the OT rule we've all adopted. That's one of the few things we as a group decided works for us. It's been hard for all of us to agree on a way to moderate ourselves....but that one has pretty much worked.

Hope you and your family didn't have too much troube with the Hurricane Bubba.
Lovie does bring up a great point....using OT.  I saw where someone else asked that we use OT for all topics not about RA.  That is something we all agreed on and maybe we have been lazy about that.  That is a good compromise to moderate ourselves!
Phats
The off topics serve as distractors. They are meant to piss people off to the point that they no longer feel their arthritis pain   We'd still be better off if the Con's would post in a con thread and the Wacko's would post in some appropriately named Wacko thread.

Donn???

Pip

Pip??  You guys don't think we're ALL wacko??  Well, I'm not even going to ask which side you think I fall into.I don't mind fun off topic things like family news, pop culture interest stories, pictures.  I get tired of the political stuff.  Since I joined in June, the OT threads have seemed to take over.  I'm getting to the point that I just add people to facebook I wanna network with or PM them instead for input of wading through all the fluff.  Where should the liars post pip? You know the ones that claim to have rheumatoid arthritis and claim to be healed by minocin but really have palindromic arthritis, a joint disease that unlike rheumatoid arthritis, does not cause joint damage or bone erosion and unlike rheumatoid arthritis, causes pain for maybe hours or a few days and then may not cause pain for months before *herxing* again for a few hours or a few days. Where should those people post? Maybe on the palindromic forum where they started a forum just for those types of people so that those types of people wouldn't hijack all the threads on the palindromic forum? Do you think that that is a good idea?

LEV
Lev, are you saying that your pain is much worse or on a grander scale than pips? How dare you tell anyone that they suffer less than you do. Pip and anyone else can post anywhere about anything they want. And minocin is as legit a treatment as any of the others. You are the most judgemental, racist, hypocritical jerk I have ever come across on this site. You need to take yourself and your alias DONN and shut up!! Oh, and after you have shut up, you should figure out a way to unload some of that testosterone. Maybe your wife or rosy could help out. I HATE TO SAY IT BUT HERE GOES, I GOT TO AGREE WITH LEVLARRY ON THIS ONE. I DON'T MIND PIP POSTING HERE JUST MAKE SURE THAT EVERYONE KNOWS THAT SHE DOESSN'T HAVE RA. SHE CAN POST ALL SHE WANTS TO ABOUT AP BUT SHE IS VERY MISLEADING BECAUSE SHE MAKES IT APPEAR THAT SHE HAS HAD WONDERFUL SUCCESS IN HER TREATMENT OF RA WITH AP AND THAT IS NOT THE CASE AT ALL. JUST MOHO, I AM SURE I WILL CATCH A LOT OF FLACK ESPECIALLY SINCE I AM NOT A MEMBER OF THE IN CROWD BUT OH WELL.
JAMIE

I think it's when it gets to a point like this (I don't need to quote anyone...we all know who I'm talking about) that people get tired of the OT threads. Other times I think a large group of us like having a network of friends that have RA or arthritis and not join places like facebook. I'm not really into those places. Be careful what you post on those things if you are ever applying for jobs. We searched folks on facebook this last time before hiring. Two didn't make the cut once we saw what they were posting.

It's not the OT threads. It's when OT threads turn to stupid name calling and 9th grade behavior that I haven't seen since I was in school. My 14 year old daugter is more mature than many here.

That being said; AI is about the first page I open in my favorite when I get on the computer. I love it here. If you don't there are a lot more sites out there that you might like better.  So funny how the OT complaints come from the majority of the ones that participate in them. Why is that? If you hate it so much why do we see you three pages back in a conversation? Can you explain that?

Linccn - cons - the wacko's are the rude ones that won't keep there hate stuff in appropriate threads.  LOL

Reader/Anna/whatever - there are 2 or 3 people on this board that refuse to learn about Palindromic Rheumatoid Arthritis.  Yep - that's what its called when its spelled out.  PRA is lucky in that  25% of us never get erosions.  We do, however, get horrendous pain that can quickly go on to 'all the time'.  We call it 'kill me now' pain.  Our pain levels have been studied and is considered by some researchers to be the bodies way of isolating the joint.

I was one of those who quickly progressed to 'all the time pain' and was unable to work only 3 months after diagnosis.  So much for Moron Lev's contention that it's only 3 days of hell.  I'd gladly have taken that 3 days of hell a month of I was pain free the other 27 days.

By the time I saw my AP doc only 5 months after diagnosis, he reclassified me as RA.  I have one twisted toe from that time period that is slowly going back to 'normal'.  Apparently one joint is not enough with you people.  I continued to be RA until around October of last year when I was reclassified as PRA again.   The beauty of AP is that we reverse our diseases which is something the other meds don't seem to offer.

My PRA is one of the reasons I was an early responder to AP.  If not, I'd be more like GoGo and JSNM who needed a bit more time.

So, if you are not Anna in yet another Troll disguise - take your fat backside over to the IPRS  www.palindromic.org and really learn about this disease.  If you are Anna, you'll just keep posting the same stupid BS over and over again - reinforcing your ignorance again and again.

We know Lev is ignorant.

And when you learn something - I AM DAMN WELL expecting you to get back over here and apologize.

Pip
Lorster,

I'm not saying that my pain is much worse. I am saying that my disease is much worse, past much worse. My disease is deadly. My disease causes my joints to deteriorate and my bones to erode. My disease can cause death by heart related diseases and inflamation. My pains are constant. I must take very serious drugs or I am confined to bed, crippled in pain. I am saying that I do have SEVERE RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS. That's what I am honestly saying. I have every right to talk about my disease because I have it and know what it is and what I go through. I can talk about ra medicines and effects because I have rheumatoid arthritis. I find it very offensive for someone that does not have ra to talk as if she does and that she knows what it is and what i go through and even has the nerve to talk derogatory about the drugs I must take and their manufacturers. She does NOT HAVE TO TAKE MY DRUGS. Palinindromic Arthritis is not crippling.  If she had my disease she would not be talking so much smack about minocin and have a brand new affection for the drugs that I have to take. Everyone here should ensure that when Pip starts talking smack about ra and minocin, that she also mention that she is not a ra sufferer.

Reader,

I don't call them the in crowd anymore, they are now the "private messanger club". They talk about people and other members behind their backs. Even their 14 year old children are more adult, and they know who they are. They are the least of human beings to be concerned about. Feel good that you've given them someone new to PM about behind their backs.

I think that some people should put OT in the Topic if the topic is off topic and I think that some should not. If everyone puts OT in the Topic then the crybabies won't have anything to cry about. But, if some don't put O/T in the Topic in off topic threads then when the crybaby opens up the off topic thread that wasn't marked O/T, they have a reason to cry and moan,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,"oh no, I opened up the thread thinking that I was going to help somebody and it was off topic but the author didn't put O/T in the Topic, now I can't help someone, cry, cry cry, boo hoo, hoo." Bottom line, if you want to O/T it's okay and if you don't O/T it's okay, it's just that simple. If we allow a couple of people that want to be moderators to start making rules, then we're in big trouble.

LEV
Craziness all the way around today.........The whole conspiracy theory thing is getting old real quickly on this forum.  Just because someone disagrees with you Pip, it doesn't mean that they are a serial poster or a troll.  Well, you have to admit Anna/BeaBea/Birdgrrl does troll under different names quite a lot, so it's not unreasonable to suspect someone who is displaying the same behaviour and attitude as her might be her.Paranoia reigns........Pip,
I refuse to apologize for the fact that you are a paranoid, overbearing, little-minded person that does NOT have RA. And, for the record, I don't know who Anna is but I am not now nor have I ever been her. Get over your bad self and get on with your tiny little life and quit picking on the rest of us the first time we don't bow down and cater to  you as the queen of AP.
