It was just weird | Arthritis Information

I was sitting there today, and it felt like my pulse was over 120, because I could feel my neck pulsating on my left side. I had hubby take my BP, and it was 120/80 and pulse 74.

Hubby said maybe I just had some twitching going on. I have had some twitching going on in the sides of my neck lately, but they were on my right side, not my left. I guess twitches can be on any side, but it did not feel like twitching. It felt like pulsating to me.

I guess the Bystolic is working on my rapid pulse. Which is a good thing! I am just not sure if it is working all the time or off & on. I know my BP has been normal or below 120/80. But my pulse still gets rapid a few hours before my next dose of Coreg CR & Bystolic. The Coreg CR controls my BP much better than the immediate release Coreg 2 x a day.

I still think they need to find out what is causing the rapid pulse even if the meds are "fixing" it. I mean... there has to be a reason for it, and then they are not quite sure I had the TIA, or that was the last I heard anyways. I have had more tests done since, but no one has told me anything. I do not even know which doctor the reports got sent to. I know the doctor that attempted the TEE, said he could do an ultrasound of my heart from the outside and be able to tell if I had a TIA, but he was not even my doctor. He was a cardiologist, but not the one I was referred to.

I am just ready to get back on the Remicade horse!
Did they ever put one of those 24 hour halter things on you?  They probably already did that.  It sounds like you have been going through a lot with this already.  I am a lot older than you, of course, but I have had chronic hbp since I was 19 years old and my pulse is very fast too.  I am without a Dr at the moment and have run out of meds (both arthritis and bp Hello Pam! Good to see you again!

Yeah, they have done all kinds of stuff to try to figure it out. I have had a holter monitor twice. I even done a stress test, which I have not heard anything about yet.

Well... my GP & every other Dr I have been to and told my symptoms of for when I went to the ER when my blood pressure was high and my pulse was high. Say it sounds like TIA, and my GP said I had a small stroke. But the only thing that is making them question it is that my left arm went numb and the right side of my face went numb and my right leg went numb. They say strokes do not do both sides at the same time, but all my other symptoms and the symptoms ER sent to my GP are of stroke. So... I do not know.

That is what is keeping me from having the Remicade again, well the possible TIA and my rapid pulse. But I am starting to feel the rapid pulse thing to not be a problem if the bystolic keeps working for me. Or at least makes my pulse seem normal when I try to see if RD will let me have Remicade again.

Sorry to hear you are without a Dr and meds. I hope you find a new Dr soon.
I hope so too.  and I hope you can get your remicade it sounds like you need it!

Yep, been needing it for a while now. This is my 2nd 21 day pred flare taper in less than 2 months.
