Deaths from Biologics | Arthritis Information
FDA has warned people that take Cimzia, Enbrel, Humira and remicade to be wary of Histoplasmosis. A Dealy fungal infection. 240 cases 45 deaths. DR shoulkd be on the look out for persistent cough etc. Just a FYI to allAnybody else get the feeling that in time ALL this drugs will be gone?what do you mean?
no... histoplasmosis has always been a risk just as other infections have been. What you may see is stronger restrictions as to who to prescribe them to but they aren't going anywhere
I think I was surprised to see 240 cases and 45 deaths. Nobody I know who takes Biologics is NOT under a DR care
so lets see, our choices are : die by fungus .. fun..
or die crippled.. i'm continuing on w/ the biologics!~tttThis has been discussed for several pages in another thread. Perhaps Brrdgrrl has histoplasmosis, or she wants Lynne to post her histoplasmosis stuff again?
Perhaps Brrdgrrl has histoplasmosis, or she wants Lynne to post her histoplasmosis stuff again?
JasmineRain, Lynne posted "maybe she wanted to express and opinion, then editted it. That's why my post looks like a non-sequitor.Wow! I've been so out of touch for the last 9 months. Thanks 6t5 for posting this!
Death by fungus--how charming. I would not be surprised to see these drugs disappear. However, while they are here--I think--they need to work on the cost of this stuff. When I see what is paid by the insurance company--seems the drugs companies ought to be investigated along with all the other greedy big businesses--ie: AIG; Enron, oil companies.
When the lawsuits start after the deaths--and it is no longer profitable--because they will be paying out BIG settlements . . . . .
