levlarry2008-10-17 10:19:55Does anyone but me see an awful lot of blue donkeys? We don't need a change we can believe in, we need a change that is going to happen. I can believe that I am going to be cure, you know, a change I can believe in but unless I actually get cured, it's just a change I CAN believe in. This has to make you sick. This is shows who is defining the future of your children, not Bush and Cheney. Right? Right? Anybody? Republicans and Democrats, right?

LEV
Thats a lot of favors to the blue donkeys that had to be paid back. I wonder what they wereI don't paint all in a group with the same brush.  Not all Republicans are bad, not all Democrats are good, and not all lobbyists are unethical.  The Arthritis Foundation has a lobbyist, as well as the American Cancer Society and American Lung Association.

The list you posted is interesting.  Many of the donors that contribute more so to Democrats represent workers:  state and county employees, electrical workers, teachers, carpenters, auto workers, service employees, communication workers, machinists and aerospace workers, united food and commercial workers, steelworkers, plumbers and pipefitters, sheet metal workers, letter carriers, engineers, pilots, and firefighters.  Are they running the government --  they all seem to be hurting as we head into a recession that could last over a year, we're losing thousands of jobs each month.

Did they cause the subprime mortgage and credit crisis that is weakening our economy?  Did they cause the crisis with our financial institutions that could impact the global economy?  Perhaps there should be scrutiny of lobbyists, but corporate lobbyists, the lobbyists that represented fannie and freddie, and these other financial companies, that lobbied Washington for deregulation policies.

I can't agree with you more, its enough to make one mad enough to demand real change, a new Administration, with a new party, not more of the same.

Wow Lev, all those organizations are the bread and butter, the hard workers...those that were lucky enough to stay and not have their job shipped over seas....by big corporate giants. I'm a union member (MNA) and a member of the American Nurses Association. It is what keeps my job safe, the staffing ratios within the national standards, my wage competitive. I'm not sure what you are driving at? Are you against blue collar workers? Other service employees? where did that info come from?  link please. He did link it. It's at the bottom. OpenSecrets.org I just wanted to point out that the above list is of the total amount of contributions by donors to political parties from 1998 to 2008.

The list below is a list of the top spenders on lobbying from 1998 to 2008.  Note the top spender on lobbying is the US Chamber of Commerce at 8,224,680 -- the top donor to a political party, the American Fed. of State, County and Municipal Employees is ,632,103.  If money buys influence, well . . . draw your own conclusions.

Also note, Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, whom we've bailed out, spent a combined amount of 4 million on lobbying since 1998, blocking efforts to increase government oversight.

You must live in a world of delusion.

Joi,

I live in probably the largest union state. First, let me explain this to you. The union is not the workers. The workers are union workers but in no way are they the union. I know that you have such dark blue glasses with donkeys in the centers of the lens but try to comprehend, the union workers are not the union. Did you know that not too long ago, there was a rif in the union with the workers? Many of the workers were upset that there money given to the unions was being given strictly to the democrats, even though it was republican money. The workers were quickly silenced. Did you realize that the average union auto worker before the buyouts was making 90 dollars per hour, including hourly wage and benifits. Even then, when those union 90 dollar an hour workers needed an electrician, he would hire a non union electrician. Do you know the reason? The union electrician is too expensive. When Barack first started his community organizing duties, his employer was tryin to get the steel companies to stay. But when he realized that Joe Blow was making thirty dollars an hour plus bennies, for pushing a few buttons, he knew the steel workers jobs were gone. Union workers killed Michigan, killed it. No company can compete with the world market paying such outrageous wages. Michigan has trouble getting new businesses to come to Michigan because Michigan is a Union state and companies are worried that as soon as they start up the members will vote for a union and then they will be at the mercy of the union. Let me assure you, the unions are a very small part of the work force but recieve billions from our government, especially the blue side of government. What about the non union worker that can't afford to give 43 million dollars to the democrats? Hello Joi? Anything but blue donkeys in there? Who gives the non union workers  billions of dollars every year? Barack? We can't fire a bad teacher. Why, the union. Barack has already promised billions to the auto industry and the union. If you were worried about the working man. you'de realize that the working man is not owned by a union. If the union money was going to the red elepahants, you and Lorster would be up in arms. You are too biased to even debate. You can't see the forest for the blue donkeys in your head. Any normal person that loves our country would be sick at the buying of our government and so would you joi if it was the republican side being bought. You have no moral fiber Joi, it's just that simple. YOu have no fair or right or wrong, just democrat, true blue, the big problem with our wonderful country.

LEV

Well, levlarry, you are fueling Pip's point, by demonstrating with your response to my post that you are a bully and personally attack other posters.

We may have different political opinions, but that is no need to personally attack me.  You wrote:

Are you implying that I don't love MY country?  I have no moral fiber?  Are you trying to drum up hate for me cuz I'm a democrat, "one of those liberals?"  You must listen alot to shock jock radio, cuz you cannot have a civil discussion without attacking the person who holds a different opinion.  You speak of love of country, but you forget the principles of this country, your hateful speech contributes to the further polarizing of people.

Joi,

Everybody should attack people like you, everybody. Yous are the problems with our wonderful country. I post the buying of our country, our freedoms and our liberty and because the corruption, the payoffs and the bribary is toward the democrats, you feel obligated to make excuses for it and even condone it and even post that it is for the good of the common man. WHAT? Are you going to try to convince everyone that reads this that if it had been the republicans receiving all of this corrupt  payoff monies that you would have found this corruption toward republicans to also be honorable? HELLO? Anything home in there? You attack your ownself by your biased postings. You have no credibility because of you, not me. If it had been corrupt payoffs to the republicans, I would not make excuses for them and try to convince everyone that the corruption is somehow honorable as you did. Everyone should be attacking people like you. You have no moral fiber. If it's republican it's bad, if it's democrat it's good even if it's corrupt. That's you attacking you. How can you with a moral fiber condone such corruption? How can you with a moral fiber make excuses for such corruption? I did post this concerning your condoning of the buying of our government, our freedom and our liberty:

[BEGIN QUOTE] "Any normal person that loves our country would be sick at the buying of our government and so would you joi if it was the republican side being bought. You have no moral fiber Joi, it's just that simple. YOu have no fair or right or wrong, just democrat, true blue, the big problem with our wonderful country." [END QUOTE]

Joi, that's not attacking you, that is just making an honest and true fact about you. Don't you agree that a normal person would be sick at the buying of our government? Is that an attack or just the truth? If it were the republicans receiving all that corrupt money you would be outraged at the corruption. Is that an attack or is it the truth? If it's the truth then the last statement is als true, it's just that simple. You have the same mentallity as the Secretary of State in Ohio. She thinks that fraudulant votes should be okay because they are in favor of the democrats. You know what they say, "The acorn doesn't fall far from the tree."

LEV
Is anyone really surprised that Joi not only doesn't see anything wrong with all that money going to buy our freedoms as long is it's going to the democrats and that she actually defends it as money going to help the working man? Joi, who is paying to get the help for the common working man and woman? The man and woman not belonging to a union? You? You are a joke, Joi. Because all this money goes to the politicians, the real people don't stand a chance of getting a fair brake from the politicians. There goes our freedoms and our liberties and our economies. Your politicians are so busy taking care of their contributers, there is not much left for the common man and woman. It's just that simple and Joi, it's just that legally criminal.
