This isn't related to RA, but its good news anyway.
I went to the pulmonologist today. I have been having a terrible time with shortness of breath. My cardiologist said he felt it was not heart related, and was interfering with my cardiac improvement. He felt I have emphysema.
After a VERY thorough examination, including Xrays, breathing function tests before and after albuterol and blood work, the dr said he feels I have very poorly controlled moderate to severe asthma. NOT emphysema, (unless the blood work shows I have a rare inherited form.)
This is wonderful news to me.
He said his goal for me is to have my asthma controlled so well, that if I am not playing vigorously with Ally, chasing her around etc, it is because of my RA, not my asthma..
I like the dr. found him to be very easy to talk to, and to be surprisingly familiar with RA as well as the lung issues..
I think things will improve.
I am so happy for you.
There is nothing more disturbing than not having enough wind to play with the kids. I like to bike ride with my granddaughter and we use to do a lot of Crazy dancing but seems I am more winded these days...The pulmonologist did say I have the beginning of Emphsema...and the INH may make me feel more winded. Can't wait till I do not have to take that anymore.
I do hope things improve for you and continue to do so.
You and Ally have a great weekend.
Waddles
