Saw an RA educator today.... | Arthritis Information

and that sure was a worthwhile hour spent. I learnt so much! Next week Im off to a meeting with a podiatrist/foot expert type person where we will learn about the best kind of footwear to buy and how to take care of our feet. Plus we get to have a foot spa!

Then I was given some books and videos as well as many brochures on diet suggestions/exercises etc. Also got a free sample of Antiflamme, a rub that causes warmth and hopefully I learn the right amount of rubbing so I dont need a packet of frozen peas strapped to the afflicted part. lolol Also got given a special jar opener that will help for sure, although I can manage right now. A few months ago it was impossible when my RA struck.

Have a great day everyone, may the sun shine on you all.

From the Arthritis Foundation branch here in my city. Every branch throughout the country has an educator. I just assumed you would all have something similar.
I am annoyed that my Rheumy never mentioned them tho', all it took was a phone call to the local branch and I was booked in for a free hour of one on one info. I must mention it to him next appt and advise him (
Forgot to mention that there are the Tai Chi classes for Arthritis sufferers but I cant get in until next year. Darn it.They gave me a video on some TC stuff I can do at home in the meantime.

Its all good!
Very nice Lyndee. That is a nice bit of prevention..and ongoing therapy. I think every place should have something like this. Diabetics have them. What a good idea.
