"Hollow' beneath knuckles | Arthritis Information

Of course I'll try to remember to ask RD but I'm just curious.  Anyone else have a hollow/indentation between their pinky and ring finger knuckles?  I have it on my RA hand, not on the other.  The pred took down some swelling that I think is showing what damage is being done.  It's also like my pinky knuckle is bigger and my ring finger knuckle is shrinking.None here. My knuckles have always been large in proportion to the rest of my fingers even pre-RA. Don't know if that means anything.I have big ole knuckles.  When I was 12, my hands looked like I was 40. I have lots and lots of wrinkles in the knuckles in my fingers.  My moms are kind of like that, but I wonder about RA too. The hollow is almost between those tendony things that go up to your fingers.  I thought it was a bruise at first, because it casts a shadow.  My sister has that hollow on her thumbs, the doc said it was osteoarthritis, but after reading the "roadback" book I think she has a combination of OA & RA the same thing is happening to her other thumb.  Its like she has no knuckle anymore. Very weird!Katie are you talking about your hand? My hand is sunken in between the ring and pinkie finger. used to really hurt too! the meds really helped with the pain.Yes it is more like my hand.  At the top, on the outside, a bit below those knuckles.  Something weird is happening to it.

It's been talked about on this forum before, another Ra surprise! it can affect our tendons also.....
