Labs Question | Arthritis Information

RD mentioned today that I had a moderately positive ANA in my labs. He wasn't overly concerned but did mention keeping an eye on it. I need to go get a copy of past labs because I know that ANA was 2-3 times in last 2 years and has always been negative, so that is definately a change to look at. Under ANA (no titer give, just says positive) there is a listing for Antinuclear AB QT with a titer of 1:320 with a note that it is a speckled pattern and that 1:320 is moderately positive. Just curious if anyone know what the antinuclear AB QT is specificaly for?

As far as I know it's to describe the specific antibody. I'm not sure about to QT. It's been awhile since I've had blood work done.

ANA is the same thing as Antinuclear AB (or Antinuclear Antibody) test.  I'm not sure why it was listed twice on the lab report.

Could QT be quantitative?

My ANA the same as yours when it was first tested by my GP.  At my first appointment with my RD, he said it could be elevated due to my Hypothyroidism.  When my RD reran the test is was 1:1280 with both speckled and homogeneous patterns.  I got the impression on the second test taken six weeks later that he thought it was elevated from the RA.
I did a little more research and stared at the paper a little longer and figure out that the first listing just showed positive and the secone showed the titer..though I still don't quite get the AB QT.
(quantitative is better than anything I came up with!)
atleast is shows something is changing and maybe we are getting closer and closer to knowing what this is!
I believe the AB QT might stand for antibody quotient. ahhh that makes sense! Thanks!
