Is anyone else here from the NE area? I am, and the temps here have dropped quite a bit in the last couple of weeks and it is really hitting me hard. Is anyone else experiencing the same issue? My rd put me on Plaq 4 months ago, and recently put me on MTX, because the plaq hasn't cut it just yet. Instead of waiting the full 6 mos to see if plaq will work on it's own. So, I've started the MTX, about 4 weeks ago.

How long (on average) does it take for MTX to start working? This cold weather is killing me!!

Thanks~Deb

Hi Deb, I am from the New England area and yes it is getting cold, in fact I have been having a lot of pain in my hands.  I just called the Doc for something for pain.  As far as MTX, I think the starting time for results varies from person to person.  I am sure that others here can give you more info Deb.  Hope you feel better soon.
PS: I love New England and the four seasons!
It's getting pretty nippy at night in old England too.

Deb, I can't remember how long it took for mtx (7.5) to work for me, I think the revolting side affect of feeling like I'd eaten the contents of a bin lorry* on a hot** day superceded pain. I'd been taking 2x4 paracetemol daily which helped.
I'm told mtx takes about 12 weeks to leave the body if you stop so I guess it takes time to build up.
Wishing you better

** 20' does it for us BritsI'm in New England.  I didn't get any relief from MTX until I got to 25 mg. and had to add in other drugs.

I think for me I'm worse when it's wicked hot.  Might be that I love the fall....
Tinker, its more than just a bit nippy in Old England, its down right cold at night......im back to wearing my fleecy jammies and drinking my cocoa.lol
There must be something wrong with me then, lol, my windows are open and I have the fan on......Probably a mix between the medicines and menopause and the extra Prednisone weight.  Damn, just depressed myself, lol.
