This morning I woke up with a very sore knee.  Well it's not even technically my knee.  It's just above, and then about three inches up, toward my hip.  Is that a spot that RA hits?  Never had a problem right there before so I'm wondering if it's RA or maybe I "did something to it" without noticing.

Linnc,

Hard to say.  See how you feel tomorrow morning.  Maybe try some heat, a heating pad for 10 minutes, or warm bath or shower.  Take care.

Thanks, Joy.  I'll take your advice.  It's easy to blame any ache or pain on RA.  Wouldn't want to miss something important because I wrote it off to easily.Remember that RA eats away at the joints so the spot you are talking about doesn't sound like the joint area.  Can you describe "sore" better?  Is it like a dull ache?  Sharp pain?  Does it get worse when you are walking?  What helps it get better?  Can you rest it the next couple of days?  Elevate it, use heat on it, maybe a compression wrap.  You could have just slept funky and it is bugging out from that.  Could have pulled a muscle and didn't notice it.  I do not know what meds you are on so can you take an anti inflammatory at all?  Treat yourself to babying it for a couple of days and be a couch potato and rent some good movies and eat some popcorn!

Thanks for the responses.  I'dike to answer right now but I have to go to work.  Ciao :)

It seems i can hurt about any place. I hope you are not flaring. I tend to get swelling above the knee. It does however if under a certain amount of control not go much more than thre inches above the knee. If it does then i am in bad shape. Actually only when i am on no meds at all do an allergic reaction does it swell that badly above the knee.

I am so strange. I have really bad swelling behind the knees. But pain wise I hurt under the knee caps and the outer sides the most.

Strange pains in the hip and leg area can sometimes be do to a bladder or kidney  infection.

Sorry...but that made me laugh.

Hope it doesn't last long and feeling better soon!
hehehehe...........yeah, who's knee is it ?  i didn't notice how ridiculous that is.Actually for me today the rough spots are my aching lower back, the left knee and the knuckles of my right hand. My ears and throat hurt worse or about the same as my lower back.

You know i actually had a day or two last week when i did not even take a pain pill. That was a first scince I don't know how long.

Anyway. How are you feeling? I was just checking in you.
actually i am always uo and down like that at work with thr critters.  i havent tried any kind of rub on it, but as the evening wears on, it's starting to feel more like a regular ol' knee flare.  and now my wrists have joined, especially the left one.  its gonna be a long night.hey milly.....its good to see you back 'round again.  not glad to see you still aren't straightened out ra wise and med wise.  take care ol' buddy
