Seeing that so many members are upset because i don't fall into lock step with them concerning their political stances, I,m going to make you all happy and go elsewhere. You all can enjoy LORSTER and her followers.

Wishing you all good health,

                                         DONN
Donn,

There will always be "passionate" posts anytime politics or religion are the topic.
I guess I missed what happened, but don't leave.  Too  many people are leaving lately!

DONN Its never bothered you before upsetting people why let it worry you now . I know you arent DONN and have a good idea who you are but until Im sure I cant say. Maybe you need to find a good political website not that polotics arent welcome here as I quite enjoy reading them but its the only subject you seem to have a lot to say on. You dont respond to peoples problems or support them in their time of needI wish you well in your journey, and I'm sure we will be seeing you again - perhaps with a new name?

Kweenb,

I'm not aware of anything "happening" as far as political posts.  I thought I was the odd man (gal) out with my political view and opinion.  Puzzled.

This statements surprises me as well.Oh DONN !! Don't be so dramatic , you know you will be back with some
funny or dumb joke.
Who cares is everyone doesn't like your politics?  I don't like Lorsters and a few others, but I wouldn't want them to leave because of that.  In fact, other than politics, we all get along just fine. Can I get the door for you?Lorster, you're supposed to be of the compassionate, open minded party that really cares.  That wants to give a guy a break.  Tsk tsk tsk
Speaking of that, did anyone else hear Sandra Bernhardt's (nasty, foul mouthed "comedienne") warning to Sarah Palin?  Yeah, she says that SP had better stay out of Manhatten or some of her (SB's) "big, black friends" will gang raper her.  Nice.
I will never understand WHY people insist on discussing Politics and Religion in forums meant for other things, it always leads to bad feeling, no matter what forum it might be short of a fourm on those subjects, My God I can just imagine what those forums must be like!
The two must stupid things to argue about, Politics and or Religion, let he or she have there views and be done with it, so what if you disagree, is it worth the aggravation one puts them selves through, not to say the mood that one gets and brings down on family members later.?
These are to subjects that have always caused WAR'S and misery!

If discussions about politics are contained to OT threads that identify them as being political, then readers know to skip them if they choose.  I understand that talk about politics can get contentious and for someone already dealing with the stress of RA,  political discussions can be just one more unneeded source of stress.

However, politics isn't just something that occurs in our national or state capitols.  Politicians go to Washington, set policies, pass laws, spend monies,  that affect our day to day lives, our future, and our children's future.

Health care policy is one area that directly affects everyone on this forum.  Despite the many failings of our health care system, government has done little to deal with the looming health care crisis as costs increase and more Americans join the number of uninsured and underinsured.  Discussion of politics is relevant to this forum.  If we, as voters, taxpayers, consumers, are not better informed, aware of problems and possible solutions, how can we have an effective government -- we are a part of it, and if we are not, then the special interests, corporate interests will dictate policy.

I am puzzled by DONN's announcement.  He never struck me as the delicate type, to be easily offended.  He set the tone of his threads.  Civil discussions can be held if posters are respectful and conduct themselves with the manners their moms and pops taught them.

Linnc, Sarah Bernhardt is a comediene who has always relied on being outrageous and provocative, but I find any comment, even in the context of a joke, that speaks of violence and interjects race, to be offensive and objectionable, be it from a shock jock or someone like Bernhardt.

Joy, I don't think Sandra Bernhardt speaks for all or even most democrats.  If she and others like her mean to shock, they shock me, that's for sure.  I can't believe that I live in a society that thinks gang rape is funny.

Linncn, that is just so sick and disgusting.  I can't believe she actually draws an audience I know Pam.  She wouldn't produce that kind of "humor" if their wasn't a market for it. Can you believe that people work hard all day, and then choose to spend what they've earned on that? Boggles the mind. [QUOTE=Linncn] Lorster, you're supposed to be of the compassionate, open minded party that really cares.  That wants to give a guy a break.  Tsk tsk tsk

Linncn. I had never heard of SB so I googled and listened to the clip concerning this. This is reprehensible and something I would never waste my time on. It is sad that people think this is entertainment. What is even sadder is that people actually pay to see this.
