Jas, you will be happy to know I was able to find some raspberry Pop Tarts yesterday!  It was hard to wait until this morning to try them out, but I did.

They are fine, but since I'm not a real fan of the 'fruit' category, I planned to defer to my girls, to see if it was worth stalking them anymore.

Their verdict is that they like them - "They taste just like strawberry!", they said excitedly.

Well, the store a mile away has strawberry, so I guess you know the answer to that LOL.
To each her own, I guess. I don't buy pop tarts because I like them too much.  If their are some in the house I can't seem to muster the self control to stay out of them.   Yeah, weak.  I know.  Especially brown sugar and cinnamon.
Especially brown sugar and cinnamon.
Ahhh, my first love LOL.

I don't overdo them;  I just use the same plan Jas normally does with Coke - once a day.  I can make it 24 hours, knowing they are there waiting for me in the a.m. LOL.  With coffee, and I'm good to go.
Pop Tarts are back!!!!!!!  Cinnamon still sounds good.

Do they have any special flavors for the holidays?
Wal-Mart carries Pop Tarts...the iced low fat strawberry. I don't go there often, but when I do, I'll pick up 10 boxes. I love to eat them right out of the box, not toasted. Yummmm!!How about the smore poptarts?? Instead of popping them in the toaster zap them in the microwave then grab a cup of milk,it is dunking time!!! YUMMO!!!!!hehehehe I love the brown sugar and cinnamon pop tarts...I've loved them since I was a young girl.  For some reason I can never find them here in this area, so when I go to Port Huron MI, I stock up on them.  My husband thinks I'm crazy when he sees how man I buy.
This week I picked up some chocolate poptarts....they taste almost as good as a brownie.
kelstev, that baby sure is cute! Oh, and I love poptarts. Always buy the blueberry. Guess I'll have to try the brown sugar and cinnamon.
kelstev, that baby sure is cute! Oh, and I love poptarts. Always buy the blueberry. Guess I'll have to try the brown sugar and cinnamon.
Raspberry is the best - no question about it.  Don't listen to Suzanne.
Raspberry is the best - no question about it.  Don't listen to Suzanne.I bet you all had thought this thread was dead. Well, think again. After three days of hell, I'm off for four days and I went and bought a box of brown sugar and cinnamon ones. They are absolutely delish. My husband and I are having one for dessert. Suzanne-

I thought of you last week when I was at Walmart, your pop tart place.
LOL.  Guess what?  I thought of you when I buying Limited Edition College Football Brown Sugar and Cinnamon!  They have different team logos printed on them.

Unfortunately, I'm not very good at identifying college teams strictly by their logos, and my girls are getting frustrated with me at breakfast!  Michigan was easy!  Thanks for writing the whole word out on your logo!  I'm pretty sure I got Razorbacks right, too.  (Note to Kellogg's:  not a very appetizing image to bite into, just a thought for next year....)
LOL.  Guess what?  I thought of you when I buying Limited Edition College Football Brown Sugar and Cinnamon!  They have different team logos printed on them.

LOL maybe next year they could do a bacon-flavored pop-tart for the RazorbacksSuzanne-

NEWS FLASH.  I just bought my first pop tart - brown sugar and cinnamon.  Will try it out later.
Suzanne- I just bought a box of Raspberry pop-tarts over the weekend.  We haven't had any Tarts in the house for several weeks.  Well, I went to grab one this morning and there was nothing but an empty wrapper in the box... and in the living room was a little boy eating a Raspberry pop-tart with a glass of milk.  I suppose I shouldn't be too surprised... it took 2 boys 4 days to eat a box of 8 pop-tarts.  But they could have at least asked if I wanted one!!!!  I guess I'll have to get out of bed before them... or hide the pop-tarts!!! 2 boys 8 pop tarts 4 days.  That's pretty good.  The reason I don't often buy pop tarts is because of the pathetic way I devour them.  They're just too good. I'm a BS&C girl myself.  UPDATE-

THey are WAY to good to have around.  Will only be occasional thing.  Otherwise will interfere with my vegie emphasis diet.
UPDATE- BTW - has anyone tried the "Fiber One" cereal?  I've been eating the Raisin Bran - 11g fiber per serving (and I usually have a big bowl that's about 1.5 servings as a bedtime snack).  Pretty good stuff.  It's very moving, if you know what I mean. Jas-

Haven't tried the  Fiber One cereal.  Like Quaker Oats Raisin and Granola.
News Report-   I have successfully resisted another Pop Tart.  Will wait a few more weeks.Gosh... I could use a POP TART....on the rocks, with a lil Gin... Whatever works for you.
Gosh... I could use a POP TART....on the rocks, with a lil Gin...
havent you had enough pop tarts?
Imposter."Real" Pop Tarts come in whole grain now - have you tried them? We all like the brown sugar cinnamon (strawberry, not so much) and unforutnately no chocolate to try. The BSC has 200 calories, 7 g fat, 5 g fiber. They also are softer than reg. Pop Tarts.OMG!! I am going shopping tomorrow! I love Pop Tarts and everytime I buy them my granddaughters eat them all!!  LOL
I'm buying 2 boxes this time; one for my office and one on the shelf.  I'm still resisting buying pop tarts.  Yeah!!!!I always like the idea of Pup Tarts, but if I ever buy them I am disappointed by reality.

So I haven't bought them in years and years.

What can I say? I'm a Foodarian.Snow, if I would have had water in my mouth at the time I read that, I would have spit it out everywhere!! LOLSNow-

So that's what I've been doing wrong; buying Pup Tarts instead of Pop Tarts. I was wondering why my experience didn't seem anything like yours.

What can I say? Us Canadians. We want to recycle everything. I mean, what do you do with your slush team after they're too old to pull your sled anymore?

Jas-

I still haven't had the raspberry.  Later.
Jas-
can you belive it 5 pages of poptarts. We gotta write about food more often.
This is just the Pop Tart update thread!  There is also the original Pop Tart thread!

Just finished a gingerbread, yummy.  Will miss them after the holidays!
I am so excited!  I went to Super Walmart today, home of the world's largest selection of Pop Tarts.  I found TWO new, limited edition flavors that I have never had.  Guava Mango (someone said that was good on the last thread, right?) and Dulce De Leche.

OMG.  If anyone thought I would try the fruit one first, WRONG LOL.  I can't wait for breakfast tomorrow.  The Dulce De Leche is caramel filling that looks like the outside of a caramel apple.  OMG.  It sounds so good right now, hope it isn't too icky sweet sounding in the a.m.
they are both really good... i loked the guava one it had a good flavorDulce De Leche was just okay for me.  I think it is a flavor that probably benefits from toasting, and I only eat mine 'raw' (I mean, if I wanted to make breakfast, it wouldn't be Pop Tarts!).  It was better dunked in coffee.

Guava Mango tomorrow!

Raw Pop Tarts??  Oh, NO, Suzanne.  They must be toasted.  You're missing half the bliss!
Nah.  Pops Tarts and I go back a long way LOL.  Don't miss the toasting, waiting for it to cool, etc.

When I was little, for a special dessert (but not 'homemade banana pudding with real meringue' special) my mom would toast a Pop Tart (the kind that is chocolate crust, white filling, white icing with brown sprinkles, what is that flavor called???) and while it was hot, top it with vanilla ice cream. Pet vanilla ice cream.  Yum.

Pet ice cream would be good with Pup Tarts, too!
I bet you could stash some in the freezer - just like Girl Scout cookies I debated started a new thread for this update.....you will not believe how many boxes of Pop Tarts I bought today at Walmart.

I agonized in the Pop Tart aisle for quite some time, considering high fructose corn syrup, etc., but no two flavors are alike and I've got dairy-free to consider, too....you cannot have it all, even in a Pop Tart.   So here is what I bought:

Two family packs of strawberry for dairy-free daughter.

One pack of vanilla milkshake that my little one has been asking for.

One pack of a NEW flavor - CHOCOLATE BANANA SPLIT!! - for um, yours truly, but I am willing to share.

Then I saw that the whole grain ones have been repackaged (those moms in the market research panels have been lying, saying they would buy more if they were healthier, don't you think?).  They now clearly say 20% of your daily fiber, and they have also added chocolate fudge.  AND they had been stickered with off coupons!

Reg. price is .82.  So I bought seven boxes of those at only .82 each.

Grand total eleven boxes, which I believe is a new record.  I'll have the whole grain Sat., because tomorrow is definitely a chocolate banana split day. Can't wait!

My son is into the Choclate Chip Cookie Dough variety lately

I'm waiting for the bacon flavored Pop Tarts.   I'm tired of fruit.
I can't eat more than one at a time. Gee Suzanne- I could do a pop tart day..... I'd buy them if they could come out with a NO BAKE COOKIE  PopTart..... I adore no bake cookies.....they have oatmeal in them .....that makes them healthy in my book!
400 breakfast + 400 lunch + 400 dinner = 1,200 a day.

BRILLIANT!
OMG I am nauseous just thinking about eating that many pop-tarts in one day!  Now I love me a pop-tart, but I think I would seriously hurl if I had to eat more than 2 in a day. confessions of a junkaholic
OMG I am nauseous just thinking about eating that many pop-tarts in one day!  Now I love me a pop-tart, but I think I would seriously hurl if I had to eat more than 2 in a day. No, I meant eat your 400 calories of Pop Tarts for breakfast, then eat 400 of something else for lunch and 400 of something else for dinner.

When 400 is a meal, not a snack, it works out fine for me.

Now, dinner out last night was well over 400 calories.....but I'll even it out somehow.
My ratio is more like 260-150-790
My husband cooks and he doesn't believe in being conservative with things like oil and butter....
I have to be super careful all day so I can eat dinner.

I've got the same problem when hubby cooks.  The girls and I prefer my cooking, which is good, except that I also do not really like to cook!  But really, the less gunk you pile on, the better it is for you.

I like to prepare and eat simple stuff.  Hubby watches Food Network and experiments on us.
I like to adapt the Food Network recipes to be more healthy. Most of the time even with the substitutions it tastes good. Can't tell my husband though- if he knew he wouldn't be grabbing for seconds!
