OT - Coke addiction | Arthritis Information

OMG the last few days I cannot get enough coca-cola.  I normally have a can a day; the past couple days it's been two or three.  The empties are lined up on my desk surrounding my computer equipment - it looks like a computer science major's dorm room desk.  It could be worse - I could be chugging a 6-pack of Sam Adams every day!! Oh boy, do I share your addiction!  Mine is for Diet Coke.  We have a coke machine in our kitchen and those cans come out so icey cold.  It's a true addition for me.  I don't drink coffee or tea, so it is my only source of caffeine, so I make it count!  [QUOTE=Hillhoney]Oh boy, do I share your addiction!  Mine is for Diet Coke.  We have a coke machine in our kitchen and those cans come out so icey cold.  It's a true addition for me.  I don't drink coffee or tea, so it is my only source of caffeine, so I make it count!  Oh I love my Coke machine!  It was my Christmas present from my hubby one year.  It's an old one, probably from the 1970's, takes bottles or cans.  I go to a warehouse store and by Coke by the case loads!  We have a 5 cent deposit on our cans, so we have to save them and take them back to the store.  They pile up so much, we keep them as our mini savings account, LOL!

I share the addiction and it's not diet Coke, it's the real thing and it's the Coke that's bottled in Mexico.  They use cane sugar and it's the best Cokes I've ever had and I am addicteced.  Because we're in Yuma I can easily get the Mexican coke (sounds pretty bad) but you know what I mean.  In fact I just had one with supper.  LindyPictures from my kitchen:

Oh Lindy I absolutely LOVE the Mexican Coke!  Some of the Mexican groceries around here carry it from time to time - when I find it I buy as much as I can!!!!!!

  Glad ya like it!
I especially love diet coke from a glass bottle ...tastes soooooo much better, but it is very hard to come by.

Love that coke machine, its really over the top. wait till I show my daughter....she will want one, on second thought maybe I won't.
One of my friends used to own a full-service filling station, and in the repair shop they had a Coke machine.  It had the usual suspects - Coke, Sprite, Orange, Root Beer (no diet - these were manly men!!!)... and it had one blank button that dispensed cans of MGD.  The machine was not accessible to the public, of course... JasmineRain2008-09-27 20:54:01Jolt Cola - a college staple!  Along with ramen noodles and raviolios eaten right from the can.  Ahh, the good old days...

I used to be a total coke-a-holic. I drank it all day long, easily killing 5 cans a day.  My kids were not allowed to even think about touching my coke.  I loved the coke throat burn first thing in the morning.  I switched to diet pop quite a few years ago, and now?  I can't even stand a sip of regular.  It's so sweet the sugar seems to coat my mouth.  I'm a diet girl now.  Prefer diet Pepsi to diet coke, and has anyone had diet Sunkist??  That's reeeeeeealy good.

What a cool kitchen, so much fun.  I remember that my dad was addicted to Coke also.  He drank a 6 pack a day and I wasn't allowed to touch his bottles of Coke, so I had to get my own 6 pack....it really is a true addiction.  LindyLove the coke machine but for me no coke pepsi as the old SNL skits use to go on the tv.
How are ya buddy???
Buddy??? Don't you remember, I'm Ginger! LOL  (Wasn't Jay Little Buddy?)

I'm good Karen, how about you? I don't get a chance to check in much, but I think about you guys all the time. I really miss our daily chats!
How is your health. Miss you Brisen. Things just are not as fun around here without you.

I have chronis fatique and Sjorgren's. So I am thirsty and tired. I do the DEW. To much but well it I would be a sleep and brain dead other wise.

From my typing I must be running low on my caffiene. Rough day.

Hi Milly! Sorry to hear about the CFS and Sjorgrens...seems they often coincide with RA and other AI diseases...unfortunatly.

It's good to see you still posting!

Ooooh I am going to have to find some of that real-sugar coke!!!!!!!!  I have started buying full circle organic honey nut cheerios not only b/c healthy or whatever but b/c sweetened with sugar instead of corn syrup.  It makes such a difference!

Try a Mexican grocery.  The less "gringo" the better.Katie. I really like Blue Sky products. They have sugar rather than corn syrup. I'm sure whole foods sells it. That's where I get mine....the Mexican grocery.  Actually Sam's Club here in Yuma carries it.
Hi Brisen, am glad to see you posting.  How are you doing and what have you been up to?  Lindy
I wish we had whole foods!  we have something locally owned that tries to be like whole foods, I might check there!
We have a few mexican groceries probably...actually most hispanics here are guatamalan...I will have to check one out.  I think there is one downtown but it may be too gringo :)
Hi Lindy! I'm doing pretty good...nothing worth complaining about anyway. :)

I sure do miss everyone here, just haven't had a lot of computer time with working full-time and helping out with my Mother's care. How are you doing? Still traveling a lot?
Hi Gale, I'm really happy that your working and I fully understand helping with your mom.  I'm in clinical remission for the first time in ten years-WAHOO.  If it weren't for the PsA I'd feel great.  It's not in remission, just the RA but PsA is much better than before.  Yes, we're still traveling but not as much due to gas costs.  We spent the summer in Washington and are now in Yuma and will leave for our place in Mexico in 3 weeks.  We'll be gone 6 months if health stays stable.  Take care.  Don't be a stranger LindyOk...........seems I missed most of the cola talk but I thought I was the only one addicted to diet pepsi (coke zero if I have to).  It's all I drink, all day long.  I'll probably die well preserved : )I used to work for a guy who was an absolute Coke junkie. We bought the syrup from a restaurant and between cigarettes, the guy used to slam the stuff right from the machine which was for employees only. I am sure the boss would have IV'd the stuff if he could.  I have already made my kids promise that when I die they will put a supply of Diet Coke in my coffin, so I have some for the road!that's funny!  Did you know we use coke syrup as an antiemetic (stop nausea).  Safe even for morning sickness they say.
