Part of or as much of my pain anymore is is from headaches. I take pain meds. It is just mental function is impared when i get these. Any special way of treating them that does not effect your mental focus as much? Sadly i would still need pain pills. I think it is from all of the swelling i get in my head. That is ears sinus jaw glands. Plus i know the swelling around my spine area seems to add to this as i get a sore neck. I sometimes feel as if i have menningitis. I know i do not it is just what i imagine it would feel like.Milly, my miracle drug is IMITREX, not the pills, not the inhalers, but the injections!  They work within 5 minutes with NO side effects whatsoever, no loopy head, no sleepiness, nothing.  I've been taking them for 15 years and I sware by them.  My migraines are so bad that within 10 minutes of the onset of pain I'm throwing my guts up and passing out with no tolerance to light or sound.  I was ready to literally kill myself right before my Doctor gave me the Imitrex, it was new back then but obviously it's safe because I'm still here having suffered with NO problems from the drug.  I still get them although not 2-3 per week like I used to.  I'm tellin ya' I could kiss the person(s) who came up with Imitrex, it saved my life.  The pain was so intense that I would gladly stick the needle in my eye if I thought it would help.  And it doesn't interfere with my RA drugs either, thankfully.  Hope this helps.Milly, I had migraines two to three a week for over 2 years. I wanted to kill myself, it was so bad. I went on a beta blocker called Nadolol. It saved my life. I was on it for 5 or so years and it worked so well. I went off it about three weeks ago and so far, so good, no headaches. I feel for you as I know what you are going through. Do you think it is caused by your RA meds?
