I just read a posting about crps, and was wondering what that test was?  On monday i will be going to my rheumy and she said she would be doing some different tests on me. I would appreciate it if some one can explain some other tests other than rf test, to confirm ra?

Hello Joyce,

CRP is one of the tests the Drs do to determine if your immune system is "acting up". The last two letters stand for reactive protein. The best thing you can do for yourself is to go to one of the major Arthritis sites and click on Laboratory tests. I think it is the Mayos site that has an A to Z article on RA that will tell you what to expect. Most important ask your Rheumatologist about the tests he or she is ordering and why. What is being looked for? I got an ugly surprise by not doing that and went through a lot of trauma. Had I looked at what was ordered before I left the office and questioned why I could have spared myself much fear and worry.

Hope you get some answers soon,

Hello Joycee,

Maybe this site will help you to better understand CRP...

I hope your test comes back normal...
