Kids and I borrowed a cabin deep in the woods on a lake for a few days to let hubby pack  and digest his paperwork while we were gone.  No phone service, no cable, no internet, lol. I loved it out there. We are back in our house and the Kids- I say kids, but they are 17,19, 20 - The 17 and 19 yr olds are from a previous marriage. The 20 yr old is 19 yr old's gf. seem to be handling it well. It will just be the 17 yr old and myself living in an apartment. Time for 19 yr old and his gf to get a place of their own and learn what the real world is like.

I found a very reasonable apartment in an old part of town. Not slums, but certainly nothing we are used to. I took son to see it today and he hated it. *sigh* My Rheumy does not want me to work at all, so I went to the housing authority for assistance and I'm no. 105 on the list. I went to social services and she said I qualified for food assistance only, but she made me an appt this week to make sure. I swallowed my pride and asked for help from every group/agency I could think of. All the DV shelters were full and because of their ages, my boys would have had to go to a men's shelter and son's gf would have had to stay here with hubby.

Surprisingly, with all the stress going on, I am sleeping relatively well and my pain level is lower than it has been in a very long time. I am even eating! My hands still hurt and it kills my shoulders to lie on my side, but I'll take that over the pain I had even a week ago.

hubby is going by the court order and turned in his guns to the Sheriff's dept. I've been telling him for months he needs to see a counselor and it took me splitting up with him, but he finally made an appt. with his primary to get a referral. He also wants me and the kids to stay in the house and he will continue to pay all the bills. I will until the hearing in a little over 2 wks. to finalize the separation. This Fri we go to court to extend the restraining order to one yr.

That's all for now. Thank you to everyone who is praying for my family and all the others who are sending their good wishes!
Sounds like things are starting to look up Owie....stay positive. Everything is going to be fine. Keep your chin up.{{{{hugs}}}} Deb....you seem to have everything under control and having your pain decrease is a huge victory and just shows how much stress you have been under. As Lovie said, its all positive.

Lots of good thoughts and prayers sent to you all.

Owie - its good to hear things have straightened out a bit - its amazing how things work out with acceptance and time.  The best part is how well you are sleeping and your symptoms are down - stress really does get us.  You and your family have been in my thoughts and prayers and now there is some rejoicing.  It will work out, and I knew you could do it - take care Cathy
