My husband and I are headed to Orlando next week for 10 days of R&R. We have been going online to shop for tickets to the amusement parks, etc. I am seeing blogs where people are saying don't buy online. Any advice as to how to get the cheapest tickets?I think you may get a break if you have AAA (car club). If you do, you can find them online. We get the newsletter from time to time and I'm sure i've seen stuff for tickets in there. Oh, also if you're staying at one of the Disney hotels (I think there are three: The Hard Rock Hotel, the Polynesian, and I forget the third - maybe Wilderness Lodge) I believe you can get deals on park passes in there. Again I'm not positive on this though because I have "Disney Fried Brain" - last year for some crazy reason we decided to go to the parks in August - not a good ideaThanks Honey. We are staying at the Grand Hilton. Maybe we will wait. They may have a deal. We went a few years back and I got coupons for meals in the Disney parks where you Buy 1 Get 1 Free on ebay.  With a family of 5 they helped tremendously!

Highly recommend using the speed passes so you don't have to stand in line a long time too.
call the concierge at the hotel they will be able to tell you what their ticket prices are [QUOTE=Honey]Oh, also if you're staying at one of the Disney hotels (I think there are three: The Hard Rock Hotel, the Polynesian, and I forget the third - maybe Wilderness Lodge) I believe you can get deals on park passes in there. Hard Rock is at Universal.  If you aren't concerned about Princesses and kiddie rides, Universal and Islands of Adventure are a good deal.   It has been a couple years since we did it, but if things are the same - Hard Rock was great, you got to 'fast pass' ALL rides in the parks if you were staying at their hotels, very quick and easy transportation from the parks to the hotels.  Pay more to stay on the concierge floor, it's worth it -  includes continental breakfast, free soft drinks, bottled water and coffee all day, cocktail and appetizer reception (have a big lunch and it is plenty for dinner), and dessert bar at night.  I think the package we got for that floor also included park tickets.  Hubby had sticker shock, but I pointed out all it included - I mean, bottled waters are over these days, multiply that by four.....
Aaaah yes, see? I told you I had "Disney-fried brain" At dinner the last night we told our kids (age 11 and 14 at that time), "The next time you guys will be here will be when your parents 'cause we're DONE!" Really it is wonderful. Best place for kids/families/couples -- anyone but going in August is just not smart. It was jam packed and we had to keep running into air conditioned places to let the sweat dry up - yuck. I do remember though that in the lobby at the hotel we bought the tickets - and do get the fast passes - you go right to the front of hte line.

I looked up on the AAA site (Automobile Association of America) and I did see a little Disney emblem at the top of the page but then my computer froze. Maybe you'll have better luck with that.Honey2008-10-03 11:17:28I'm so jealous, WDW is the one place I would love to go back to. We stayed for 7 days and didn't see it all. Park hopper passes let you go to any park any day, or go back to your hotel and rest and then go back. I used every break I could find to help pay for it, but it was the trip of a lifetime for us. Hope the weather is good.

I should have added, the DIS discussion boards are a great place for information, it was the first board I ever joined.Ninilchicken2008-10-03 11:11:04I used to live there and this time of year is great. No lines, etc. I highly recommend Epcot! you will never again see anything like it. You basically go around the world, and each country has a ride or some sort of educational tour and a food place that only serves food from that country. Disney goes to that country and hires people to come here to work at their country spot. It was great. They had parades, etc just like the other parks, but we could eat our way around the world, it was great authentic food! Also, for the month of Oct. you definitely want to go to universal studios holloween nights. It's a blast! If you don't want to take the kids, you can go late at night and the hotels have highly trained nannies on staff to babysit. I would do it while they are sleeping, but if awake, they provide food, snacks, art projects, games, etc.also, keep plenty of change in your car, because a lot of roads there are toll roads and not all are monitored by people, so you may have to throw .35 into a basket for the arm to raise up so you can go. I don't have any suggestion except have A GREAT TIME, leave reality at the entrance and go for the fun.  Lindy
