Welcome to the forum. Most everyone is on the RA forum you should post there and you will get lots of feed back. Sorry for all of your troubles. You sound like the rest of us. It is an awful disease. We understand. As well i think the majority of us are on pain pills most of the time also. So excuse our typing. I think you will make many friends and get alot of advise and understanding.Hi! I'm Sandra and was diagnosed with PMR three years ago. Like you I was a healthy woman who went to bed one night and the next morning could hardly get out of bed. Life for me as I knew it would never be the same again. I have been on prednisone for 3 years now, but have gone down to 3 mgs. I initially gained 20 pounds and hated the pain and gain!

I'm an author and actress, used to being in the pubic eye and I wanted to hide and return to my old self.
So I know how all of us who have auto-immune conditions feel. I have just started a website to help those of us find out new information in one place that will help us lead better lives. Every day I add more articles and info. Finding out about PMR was so difficult, I thought I was not alone in my efforts to get as much helpful information as possible to feel better and live a more pain-free and normal life.

The site is www.livingwithpmr.com and not only covers polymyalgia rheumatica, but all the arthritic and rheumatic conditions as well as osteoporosis (which can come as a prednisone side-effect). Good luck and nice to know about you.

Welcome katrina and screenactress.  Sorry you had to find us, but once you sift through all the usual whackos, there is a core group of great posters who have lots of years of knowledge.  And don't mind the political threads, it will die down after the American elections in November.  Good luck and take care ~~ CathyHi Katrina, you and I share the same first name. :)
