Give me a break. This is a problem that was a long time in coming. Many people including the citizens are at fault here. However, the person who has the responsibility to keep our country safe did not put out the warning till the last second. He has failed at a war, at the economy, at national emergencies. Truly the worst President we have had.
And Barney Frank, Nancy Pelosi et al bear no blame because.....?

As early as, if not before 2004, Democrat Senator Byron Dorgan from ND warned of the potential of an upcoming crisis and the devastation that would result the in the mortgage/lending industry. He introduced legislation to bring accountability, etc. into the lending practices of the mortgage/lending industry but the measure was voted down by the Republicans who had control of both houses of Congress.
