Swelling of entire arm and hand | Arthritis Information

 

My husband was just dx'd with gout last week. He is on a prescription NSAID and another medication, but his swelling has decreased dramatically today. His whole arm is very swollen and now also his hand. Is this typical? Should we be doing something? I am wondering if he should go to urgent care in the morning if it does not go down.

Hi, my brother-in-law has gout attacks on his left ankle for years now. The swelling will last for over a week and after taking anti-biotics and eating only the right food, it would somehow improve until the swelling gradually disappear. He's now used to those attacks and quite received normal reaction during those periods..just sharing.
