Dang!  What has gotten into you?  I can't believe how you treated the newbie in here today!!!  How frickin rude!  THIS is a forum to provide support for others that have RA and regardless of our "political views" we should welcome new people that have come here for help with open arms and empathy.  I don't know what to say, I'm shocked at how rude and uncaring you were!

AA,

Lev gave good advice.  He wasn't all soft and loving, but when is he?  Just because his delivery isn't what you would have given, doesn't mean he is rude or mean.  Sometimes people who come here don't want to hear what they are told.  I know that when I was first dx, I wanted sympathy and a shoulder to cry on.  That doesn't mean the advice was bad.
Phats

Aching,

Aggressive rheumatoid arthritis has gotten into me. I gave her good advice. The very same advice that I had given to my mom. My mom used to call complaing of the pain in her hip. I would tell her to go to the doctor's. She continued to complain and I told Mom, "Mom, until you go to the doctor's I don't want to hear you complain about the pain in your hip." So many people have come here just for sympathy and there are many members here that are good at giving sympathy along with hugs and kisses. I do not issue hugs and kisses to those I don't know, period. Even most that I do know I don't give hugs and kisses. Most sympathy seekers come here and get all the sympathy and kisses and hugs and still do nothing but come here and cry and want more sympathy and there is nothing wrong with that. We actually have our resident sympathy seekers. I give good free advice that I have given good thought to. Advice that I would want. This is a serious disease with serious consequenses. Even if the person with ra is a juvenile, she better become real adult in a very short period. When I was first issued my rheumy I didn't like him because he was quite cold. Now, I realize how lucky I am to have him as my rheumy and when I squeeze his fingers and actually hold his fingers tight and I tell him how good I feel because of his good cold advice and caring, I actually see a very small smile on his cold face. Another thing is that during these times we have quite a few aliases appear. I was shocked that she attacked me when I trully believed she would thank me, go figure. You also get no kisses and hugs from me but, if you go back and read my advice and give it good consideration you will see the good in it. Everything can be taken two ways. We all have two eyes, one good and one bad. If you see the bad in something, close the bad eye and re-read it. I am certainly not looking for popularity points or to become a part of a group. RA is a very serious disease that cripples and can cause death and that's the way my good and bad eye see it. If you were in a burning building and you didn't know how to get out and you were sitting on your knees crying and I came along and told you to quit crying and follow me to the exit, you would probably get mad at me for telling you to quit crying and sit there and die, right. There is nothing wrong with crying as long as you are doing something constuctive to ease the fear and pain, it's just that simple.
