Has anyone gone on disability | Arthritis Information

Due to polymyalgia rheumatica has anyone gone on disability?  I am experiencing quite a few migraines now.  I have blurry vision in my right eye, at times, not always, but I don't have insurance, so I can't go to the doctor for the migraines, cause I can't afford to pay the bills.

I am missing work and am afraid I will be fired.  Due to changing jobs, I can't get coverage for the polymyalgia rheumatica as I have been without insurance long enough that they want a pre-existing condition time, a year at least.  I am going to have insurance starting November 1 and am going to go to the doctor regarding the migraines and hope that he can give me some treatment for those and hope that they are not linked to the polymyalgia rheumatica, but if they are, and as long as this has been going on for me, 5 years now (although the migraines have just been this severe here very lately, few months), I'm wondering if I would be able to get disability so that at least I won't have to be completely without money, if I do get fired.
I agree with Mrs. UK.
I urge you to read about giant cell arteritis (GCA), also known as temporal arteritis.
GCA can lead to blindness if not diagnosed and treated in a timely manner.  About 50 percent of persons with GCA also have PMR, and about 10 percent of those with PMR also have GCA.
